Is it offense, defense, special teams or coaching?

I selected all of them. We have lots of issues. Just saying.

YOu forgot one....injuries.

But yeah, the offense is all kinds of banged up. I'm not saying they win this game healthy, but obviously it's a big factor. This team doesn't have enough depth to survive injuries like this.

yes,

"I'm all in favor of it" JK McKay

If the offense had done early the defense might have held up better down the stretch. That being said the D played terrible, especially in the 2nd half this time.

Offense because of the play calling. Stop killing your QB's.

Too many issues with the program to select only one so I will go with youth so when everyone else uses this for an excuse...

I'll blame injuries and youth when I feel like we are getting maximum effort and focus from the guys we've got healthy and still losing. When we are missing extra points, snapping the ball poorly, arm tackling a running back with a reputation for being a guy who that doesn't work on, not fighting through blocks, getting sucked in too far from the outside, etc., the only blame for these guys needs to be found in the mirror.

I voted offense, they need to stay on the field longer to give the defense a rest, they were 1-10 on third down, that's not going to cut it. The defense kept it close for a while but they were just on the field so much, they just got worn down at the end.

One of the glaring issues to me is that I don't believe we have created a turnover in B1G play. I may be incorrect in that assessment and welcome to be corrected on it. We don't create turnovers and have had turnovers (which have been converted into points) in EVERY B1G game.

Carter should of had a relatively easy pick in second half, I believe the next play was a touchdown run.

Our run defense is one of the worst things I've ever seen in my life. We've been absolutely steam-rolled the last three games. I honestly don't see an argument for anything else.

+1

with no expectation that it will be improved upon this year. hopefully this will stop the "but we stopped them in the 2nd half" nosense.

Without a doubt, it is coaching. This staff is way in over their heads. Stop making excuses (injuries, youth, etc.) and acknowledge that your players are making fundamental mistakes and you are being outcoached every week.

I am sooooooo sick of the "we are young," excuse.

A. You're young because you choose to play young players
B. Our DT's and LB's are not young and are the biggest problem with this team. Rallis is terrible in the Middle they should've realized that early and made a change.

Play calling on O is questionable at best. It seems that when we are running the ball well than all of the sudden they go away from it or if they are killing it in the passing attack then they start running. Am I the only one that see's that!?!

In any event, that excuse ends next season. We'll be returning all but 10 scholarship players, so these humiliating losses can't be casually tossed away by saying we're rebuilding. It's one thing to lose, it's quite another to lose by 25+ points (something Kill and co have done 5 times already in 19 games)

You really think you won't be hearing "we're young" repeatedly next season?

How is it that you "choose" to play young players when they are your only option? Please point out our seniors you'd rather play at (or even junior) offensive line? Safeties? WRs? RBs? DL? Non-injured QBs?

Really... Barker, Green, Jones, Engel etc at WR... RB's Gillum, Kirkwood, Cobb, Wright..... QB could have played Gray or Shortell plus Foreman.... DL, Hageman, Botticelli, Wilhite, Perry Etc..... Give me a break! All Upper Class man but we all know we only have 12 seniors on scholarships

I have no idea, but it won't be true next season, and the excuses will have worn pretty thin by then.

I'll try to maintain some optimism. Beating the bad teams on our schedule was a good start, and I wasn't expecting more than 5 wins this season, but I was hoping that we could stop being humiliated by the bigger programs. Getting blown out sadly seems to be a staple of this team under Kill so far, sadly.

Might help your argument if you knew what upperclassmen means. A bunch of those guys are not upperclassmen.

What I meant were alternatives to taking off red shirts.

IMO Kill is playing more and more FR so that he can lean on the "we're young excuse." Just seems odd to play Williams, Plsek, and Nelson specifically well into the season when there are alternatives and we aren't that good.

The point is, Barker, Hageman, and Wilhite (not sure what grade Botticelli is) are the only upperclassman, non-injured major contributers you listed. If a team is "not young," that list would be 10+ players.

I have no idea what games you've been watching, but being out coached is not the reason we are losing. It's quite simple, we are very young and lack the depth of talent. Inexperience will make any coach look bad. "Over their heads"...is a ridiculous statement!

Carter should of had a relatively easy pick in second half, I believe the next play was a touchdown run.

But he didn't make a play. Thus, your statement supports a point I was trying to make. We have yet to create any type of turnover and turn it into points for our side.

i could mention all of the LB's (who are playing terrible) Brock Vereen etc... My point is that Jer is playing the we're young card over and over again but he is the one choosing to pull redshirts nearly 1/2 way during the season. I am just sick of the excuse! I don't even disagree by playing Nelson, but Plsek and Williams? Not even Cobb or Wright a chance really and where the hell did Gillum go. There are capable non-freshman who can play that are not getting a chance that pisses me off!

Now THIS is a dumb statement. Year 2 for coach Kill and staff, and you want to claim coaching as the issue? How about talent? How many true freshmen are playing a major role this season or are on the 2-deep? That should tell you all you need to know about the talent level in this program. Nick Saban couldn't stop the run with this bunch. Year 2, people. Year 2.

I don't disagree with you on the redshirt thing, but you seem to think there are upperclassmen options that aren't there. Cobb and Wright are sophomores with almost no experience. I don't know what's up with Gillum and I'd rather that Cobb and Wright play than burn Williams redshirt, but that doesn't mean its not a young team. You're right about LBs, they an CBs are the only not young group.

The point is, the TALENT on this team is young. The upperclassmen, with very few exceptions, are not good enough, hence the youngsters that we're currently relying on. You don't like that excuse? It's called honesty. Your favorite team is not very good. Your head coach knows it, and you should too. It's not an excuse if it's true.
