But its just a question of who it will be that commits a false start. Just count on it. Been going on for years. And I am just sick of it.

Or how about delay of game? Minnesota has been guilty of these forever. I think I counted 3 times last night we were 3rd and 2 or 3. And boom the unforced error, the mental error, the dead ball foul. And its 3 and 7 or 8. I gave up counting the number after 3.

Doc, I went back to ESPN's play by play and here are the penalties we took on offense vs. UNLV

5 yards for Delay
5 yards for Flase Start
5 yards for False Start
5 yards for False Start
5 yards for False Start

How many of those were third and short? I think I recall at least two.

And I think we got bailed out on one of them by the refs. There was a third and short where we jumped and they called UNLV for drawing us offsides, but I think it was pretty clear that was a bad call.

That was the disconcerting signals call. After that call which I think was in the second half, made me think UNLV could have been barking out signals earlier in the game and cause come penalties maybe Coach Kill mentioned to the refs at half.

The first one came on a fourth and 1
The second on 1st and 10
The third 2nd and 6
The fourth 3rd and 2
The last one 3rd and 2

Coach Kill has it all on film, and you can bet he will not allow this to continue. He was upset with the offensive line, this could be a part of it.

When I was younger, I really enjoyed False Starts.

When I got older, I learned to enjoy Delay of Game.

Might have something to do with the time needed between plays.

"Disconcerting signals on the defense" I believe. We all had a good laugh in the stadium as none of us had ever heard of that (or at least called that way).

Oh, God, we are going to frickin' die. Start a new thread on late hits out of bounds, bad punts, and hurricanes that will destroy an unprepared New Orleans (again, and again, and again). Holy crap!

I bet they work on that this week.

Here is the stat that jumps off the page. Third down conversions 3-15. When you add that stat to the drive that started on our twenty one and went 61 yards to the UNLV 18 and facing 3rd and 7 and we throw a tipped interception that lead to 3 UNLV points. Third down was a disaster against UNLV which at least 5 times was caused by dead ball fouls which put us in 3 and 6 or more.

I was thinking to myself during the game: I wonder what the totals would be if you could add up the grand total of false start penalties "my" team has had (Gophers and Vikings) compared to opponents over the years? It has to be a mind blowing, staggering disparity. Likewise with defensive off-side penalties.

I would like to add to that; how many times have 'our teams' failed to get a stop when the opponent has a 3rd and 15+?:(

How many were on the Olson brothers? I know one was. Incidentally, neither one had a very good game.
