I follow the SSP football program pretty closely. I am friends with their head coach. I've seen him play a few times. The most impressive game of the year was against St. Thomas in the section championship game. He stood out more on defense to me but that might have been because I was focusing on Isaac Hayes (who he was often lined up against). It was that game when I started saying that I think Hayes needs to add strength before he plays a ton at the next level and that he had to RS. Hayes was still impressive, but in the trenches, I thought this kid was actually getting the better of Hayes. SSP also used a relatively small and quick DT who would line up against Hayes quite a bit and I think they kind of wore him out. Again, don't get me wrong, Hayes was still really impressive but much more impressive pulling and in space than in the trenches. That might have been because Woods was that good, I don't know. I really didn't know much about during the season, I certainly didn't know that he was going to be so highly recruited. I was focusing more on their FB (Mr. Football), their QB ( a real good HS QB) and their C who I believe is going to a FCS or Div 2 school, I can't remember.
