Kill's responses to Sid and Dave's queries:

1) Penalties: "I'm responsible for that." The team has struggled with penalties . . . playing a lot of young kids . . . you've got to keep pushing forward.

2) Nebraska fumble forward for a first down on their second position (4th down): Kill said the ruling was correct. He went onto say, "It's not a good rule." He said you reward a team for doing something wrong. He'd like to see the rule changed.

3) Mistakes at the start of the game: "We're trying to build the program." We can't commit the errors (muffed kickoff, poor punts, etc.). "I feel bad for the kids." He then likened football to life, "Things don't go your way, then things get better." It's a struggle, but you've got to keep pushing and then good things happen.

4) Marqueis Gray: He did some good things and is a great athlete; however, we're not doing things that help him (dropped balls, poor snaps). Gray wasn't comfortable with the snaps whether in the shotgun or under center. "As a team we've made it tough on him." The receivers were knocked off the routes or didn't get free from the DBs. On the plus side: "He's gaining confidence."

5) Sid asked about the young players that show promise: Marcus Jones - learning the wr position, plays hard and has done a good job returning kicks. Linemen mentioned as showing promise: Tommy Olson, Marek Leniewicz and Foster Bush. Kill said they're trying to redshirt Bush, however. Nevertheless, he said Foster Bush had a good camp and fall. Devin Crawford-Tufts blocks well and is a tough kid. David Cobb has a hamstring pull, however, they hope he's back this week as well Devon Wright. Kill also mentioned the play of Drew Goodger at TE.

Defense: Derrick Wells is playing a lot as are Michael Armaefula and Ben Perry at defensive ends. The youngsters are getting valuable playing time (experience gained through playing time and multiple reps). He also cited the effort of seniors Kim Royston and Christyn Lewis (they're playing hard).

6) "Most of our game is mental." The players have to believe they can do it and eliminate the breakdowns. "The players are trying and some are trying too hard" . . . poor execution and breakdowns are the teams problems . . . "It's frustrating; you just keep working." "We've got to learn how to fight back from adversity." When things go bad we've got to get mentally right with enthusiasm, energy, and a psoitive attitude.

7) Offensive line: "Proud of the young kids up front - we've cut down on the splits - at times we ran the ball well and then a breakdown would occur."

8) Recruiting said there were six kids on campus yesterday, but he didn't give any names. "We know where we're at and where we want to be." The recruits know that as well. "We don't want kids who don't want to be here." He then said, "We'll probably lose a recruit or two . . . we're moving forward."

Go Gophers!!

Go Gophers!!

There's no way he said #1 and #7. Remember, Kill always blames the kids, and the coaching staff is terrible because they never make adjustments.

Seriously though, thanks for the info once again DL.

I never said that he has continued to throw the kids under the bus. That damage has been done psychologically and can never be taken back. Next week we will find out if 63 kids are in academic trouble or not.

Thanks for the writeup DL, I really do appreciate it.

Does anyone know who any of the six kids were?

So you think all the players have quit on themselves and their futures! Boy, you have just throw the whole team under the bus worse than anyone else. Go finds another team to bash, we don't need you.

Well then that just proves that we really have a problem here. If what you say is true then we have some of the weakest minded players in college football.

That kid from Blaine (Duke something) was at the game I believe. I don't think he has an offer, but he sounds like a good athlete. He has received an Air Force offer I believe.
