Ohio St. isn't getting any help from the refs. That should not have been a safety. If driving a running back five yards backwards from initial contact isn't decisively ending forward progress, then that phrase has no useful meaning. The play should have been blown dead before he even had a chance to break away from the tackler. If this is how they are going to call it, then why wouldn't you just grab a guy, carry him back 5 yards, let him go and then let another guy come tackle him right away?
Then on their next drive they get called for false start when the DE clearly went across the line of scrimmage.
I really don't care who wins, just hate to have controversy in an otherwise good game.
