All Things 2026 Minnesota Vikings Off-Season Thread

As far as Flores lawsuit goes, the fact that SCTOUS ruled that the case may proceed in court and therefore discovery can become public knowledge all but guarantees that this will get settled, and probably sooner than later, with Flores getting much of what he wants.

On Bumper to bumper Friday during the Goessling segment, I heard that Rob B will report to new GM Teasley.

This just further confirms to me that not hiring the new GM until after the draft was a purposeful play by the Wilfs to allow the new GM to wash his hands of the 2026 season if need be.

(In spite of Dan's loud consternations to the opposite, either being genuinely or performatively glib of the obvious truth of the above sentence.)

And it makes me wonder how genuinely Rob B actually wanted to be the GM here, or if that was just performative. Because if he does want to be an NFL GM .... then why would he accept this?
It sounds like Brezinski was given a meaningless title promotion but it came with a healthy raise. The Vikings have had some very strange and seemingly uncomfortable FO dynamics under the Wilfs which have limited the ceiling of this organization IMO.

Dot com Tom is a paid Viking mouthpiece. Him tossing out the JJ trade chat is pure vikes front office.

Are there similar asinine memes for the Chiefs leaving Kansas City, MO for Kansas?

I could be wrong, but I'm guessing the jab from the Babylon Bee was not so much about the Bears possibly moving to Indiana as it was about Chicago being the Murder Capital of the world.

Have to admit, this has been wildly entertaining to watch, especially with Kevin Warren sitting in the middle of that shitshow. What an incompetent buffoon, with Pritzker and the good Mayor Brandon in the same boat with Warren.

It'll be interesting to see how this plays out when the dust settles

The jab from the Babylon Bee is asinine. The prospective move by the Bears is for the exact same reason as the Chiefs.

Better real estate deal than the curent City/State.

It also lacks any humor.

Oh, I think we can all have a good laugh at Chicago's expense. What is life if we can't have some fun at someone else's expense every now and then, especially when it's a hated division rival?

Sounds like the Vikings, as of the post June 1st transactions going off the books, have about $12-$13M left to spend on the 2026 roster.

Our first chance to see the new GM in action, so this should be interesting. First, do they spend much more money and if they do, where do they spend it?

I have to think they add an edge rusher before camp opens in August, and there are some decent ones out there that wouldn't really cost that much.

Yes, I'm an overly optimistic sort but Damn, I think there's a solid chance Banks could absolutely wreak havoc in the interior DL for the Vikings in the coming years, and I think there's a chance for Big Citrus to make an impact in platoon-type duty at DT as well.

Banks could be special

A good question really...

How many Vikings fans WANT Smith back this coming season? Didn't his play drop off a fair amount last season already? I'm not so sure bringing him back is the best thing?

So weird how this time last year every Viking qb article commented how MCCarthy was ready to be an NFL starting qb.

How odd that a first round drafted QB doesn’t do well initially in the hardest position in sports🤔

Never ever happened in the annals of the NFL🫨

Except for the RussellLeafWilsonSmithPonderLanceRosenPickettRichardsonDarnold exceptions🥳

I wonder if the articles written about them differed greatly than those for JJM🤯

Did you grow up in Wiilmar? Them faux Cards were never the sharpest knives in the drawer🤷‍♂️

I thought he had lost quite a bit in 2024 and 1st half of last year, but thought he was playing like his former self the 2nd half of last year. Injuries played a factor in that.
His value in lining everyone up and being Flores' brain on the field is hard to measure.

He played very well once his situation was sorted. I like him back for another year, ans he’ll likely be better than anyone else right now, deserved a proper send off, and having the Safety from Miami lean from him is huge.

My guess is they know he’s coming back, but maybe hus ego likes the attention of us ge or isn’t he, snd if that’s his biggest idiosyncrasy after all he’s given for 15 seasons, I can live with it.

Exactly. There was no reason for the NFL to come to the table before exhausting all their appeals and Flores patiently waited as now he has the leverage.

NFL is dooo image conscious they don’t want this going to discovery and, who knows, maybe Flores doesn’t either.

Now is the time for good faith negotiating.

I'd take Harry back in a second. I also hope Thomas beats out Theo Jackson, who is horrible.

I'm inclined to agree, and particularly with the angle of Thomas (the Miami Safety) learning from Smith as much as he can. Lots to digest with the Flores defense.

I would imagine they would have to already have a pretty specific plan for how they use Harris through the season also, picking their spots and saving him from getting worn out and/or beat up

I am going out a limb and saying the messy Viking front office pulls a boner and Harrison Smith signs with the Rams.

Hey Raiders, a man with the judgement to approve this brand name is running your franchise along with Mark Davis...yikes.

Good article in The Athletic today about the Vikings offseason to-do list, including: O’Neill extension, Harry’s future and adding ad edge rusher.

We get to see Teasley (and Robby B) in action soon here as they sharpen their pencils and get the O'Neill extension done.
