All Things 2026 Tennis Thread

I've seen Davidov play at a few tournaments my son has played in and he has two forehands and no backhand. His Dad taught him at an early age how to hit forehands on both sides, he switches hands depending on what side the ball is coming to.

Completing the Golden Masters at age 24 is insane. Novak is the only other one to have done this and he did it at age 31. Just wild.

Too lazy to look up. What's the Golden Masters?

Winning all 9 Masters 1,000 Tournaments. These are the 9 biggest tournaments after the Majors, all players are required to play them unless injured, and they all have a 128 player draw.

The U.S. has 3 Masters 1,000 Tournaments: Indian Wells, Miami and Cincinnatti Open.

Alcaraz's wrist injury now has him out through at least Wimbledon, bummer.

Carlos Alcaraz, the two-time Wimbledon champion, will miss this year’s tournament as he continues his recovery from a right wrist injury.

Alcaraz will also miss Queen’s, the prestigious warm-up event also held in London, after ruling himself out of the entire grass-court swing.

“My recovery is going well and I feel much better, but unfortunately I’m still not ready to be able to play, and that’s why I have to withdraw from the grass-court swing at Queen’s and Wimbledon,” Alcaraz, 22, wrote in a statement on social media.

On the plus side, hopefully one of the American's can take advantage of a more open side of the draw and emerge as a threat to at least make the finals.

Pretty good first round for the American men at the French Open. Nishesh with the biggest win over Fritz, but nice wins also from Michelsen, Tien, Shelton, Tiafoe, Nakashima, Svajda, and Paul. Hoping a few of these guys can sneak into the second week.

Late to respond. Thanks

Absolutely insane development at the French Open, Sinner was up 6-3, 6-2, 5-1 and his body cramped up and went on to lose nearly every game thereafter.

Novak has to be salivating at the chance to get his 25th Slam. I really hope an American can seize this opportunity.

Young American Learner Tien continues his rise, two tough wins for him.

This is great to see, though I expect the semis and finals to be lower without the star power.

Per TennisNow:

Through Day 8 of action—Sunday, May 24th through Sunday, May 31st—TNT’s average audience share is up 25% vs. its 2025 coverage.

The network’s third-round viewership on Friday and Saturday increased 33% vs. 2025.

Massive upsets have given a major boost to TNT’s week one audience.

Go Gophers!!

Good for Sasha!

Agreed. Very happy to see him get this Slam. He was oft-regarded as the best player never to win one, and now with that label gone, maybe he'll breakthrough a few more times. His game translates on all 3 surfaces very well.

On to the grass season!! My son and I will be at Wimbledon this year, will be my 2nd time, his first. I can't wait.

Yea, the gates opened up for him this year, but to his credit, he took advantage. Alcarez not playing Wimbledon this year and I think he can beat Novak on grass, so it theoretically leaves Sinner in his way.

Will be fascinating to see how Serena's return goes and to what extent she plays a traditional schedule.

Go Serena!!

This is a solid win for Kyrgios, would be nice to see him dedicate himself to the sport one last time, but that's likely too much to ask with him.
