I bet Kwesi had least watched an NFL Draft this century.

The only time I have watched any coverage (since the Vikings selected Randy Moss in 1998) is if I happen to be at my golf course, and it's the only thing available on the clubhouse TVs.

Somehow I was exposed to it when the Purple secured the rights and selected JJM.

In the past 15 years I have spent more time watching the Kevin Costner/Jennifer Garner film Draft Day than the actual NFL Draft. Zero hyperbole.

Maybe my results would be better, but I can not imagine a more personal hell than having to participate in the 3 Day exercise spanning what 15 hours?

I thought of something more hellacious than watching/participating in the NFL Draft:

Being forced to watch a LIV Golf Tournament wire-to-wire.
 

After an injury filled year for the vikings from qb injuries, to offensive lineman, and the firing of a GM for poor QB and draft decisions, they pick an injured player, who played 3 games for Florida last year. Oh, and he reinjured it at the combine. ! 330 lb man with a repeated fractured foot, no red flags there at all.

I'm starting to doubt if the Wilf's have the wherewithal to run a competent professional football organization.

On the ones that Emma Carpenter was involved with the coverage, I could certainly tolerate it better than the NFL Draft or LIV.

Other than that, yeah. Same ballpark.

Sorry, you missed the joke.

I have been perhaps the #1 Wilf resident critic of their stewardship of the Vikings for YEARS. A badge of honor.

Just looking at this thread alone you will find no fewer than 8 posts in which I rip them, usually with empirical data to back it up. They earned it.

Basic stuff. 3 Playoff Viking Playoff victories in the 2 decades plus as Owners. Top 10 for playoff current drought for Post-Season wins. That's plenty of proof alone.

Trade arguably our best rush OLB to the team in the same conference that won the Super Bowl 2 years ago for a couple of 3rd rounders. That's fair? The odds that they hit on these picks is also extremely low.

If the Vikings are in 'win now' mode as many suggest, how does this make sense? They also just cleared a bunch of cap space so affordability shouldn't be an issue. Now they have zero depth at OLB and Van Ginkel is older and has his own injury concerns.

You also are now highly dependent on Turner taking the next step

I just don’t see why for that deal they felt compelled to move him unless he was going to hold out (he may have been)

Grenard was demanding a huge raise, which he got from the Eagles. Keeping and extending an expensive 30 year old edge rusher who's blocking Dallas Turner didn't make a lot of sense.

Two 3rd's is the equivalent of a 2nd round pick which was long estimated as Grenard's trade value.

Whether they whiff on the picks is a separate issue.

He signed with Philly for 100 million, 50 million guaranteed

He fell off last year, hurt his shoulder, and is going to be 29

This could go either way

He did while getting to take purely single pass blocking. Different when youre more the guy. That’s what I mean

And yeah we weren’t obligated to pay him next year. Could’ve just made him prove it playing out the deal as well. I wouldn’t mind if they took barham if he’s still there with one of these 3rds. They need more pass rush depth especially with ginks health now

I think he has far more upside than Greenard has produced in his career.

I’m guessing that they will add an adage at some point and they just took another Big DT and Redmond showed he on the cusp of being one of the more solid DTs in the league; that should cause havoc for OLs and help protect the back 7 even further.

this part I agree and they need to let him take that step. totally agree with that. i just also like Greenard and being able to cycle pass rushers as well as being sure you've got 2 very solid pass rushers when injuries can derail your team if you lose a guy and only have a couple.

More just saying I didn't see the impetus to move him at all unless you got a banger of a deal unless Greenard himself was going to hold out on you. His value (potentially) for one season for a reported team considering Super Bowl contention>1 3rd this year. Over the course of his time here and the entirety of the 3rds (whoever they end up being), it should shift to those players unless we tank the picks given I agree I don't think we'd have any shot at re-signing Greenard long-term (nor should)

This is certainly a fair take but I share GWG's lack of confidence in our FO. This has rather quickly become a dysfunctional organization from both an Operational and Ownership perspective.

Per Seifert, we may already have the Thor edge rusher locked up with the Golday pick - it crossed my mind when I read his bio and saw he was 6’5”, so who knows -

Part isf Seifert’s analysis-

Golday is a big (6-foot-5) off-ball linebacker who earlier in his career was an edge rusher. Flores loves versatility, but it will be interesting to see if he tries to use Golday as an all-around player or if he tries to focus him on the edge following the trade of Jonathan Greenard to the Eagles. Ideally, Golday could provide both services to maximize his time on the field.

Zimmer-Norv Turner bleepshow.

Bringing in Cousins despite Zimmer not being on board. Zimmer and Spielman essentially not on speaking terms for a long stretch of time.

KAM & KOC dysfunction.

Those are just off the top of my head.

Now they have Triangle of Authority, Reboot.

interesting tidbit. didn't know that about him.

like the tackle pick, especially with our guys health at tackle last year. glad they added a physical tackling safety as well
