Yeah that wasn’t bad, shouldn’t have resulted in a goal. Was still the best player on the ice by a wide margin.
 

How is at least one of Roed or Souch not a Gopher yet.
 




Even if we are going after CHL guys, I think Larson should really try to pull Roed over here. I think he’d be good as the second line center personally with a bump up in production from his freshman year playing on a poor team.

Plus, his younger brother is going to be very good.

Really interested to see who he ends up on a line with next year. Definitely depends on how the center situation shakes out but I could see him and Burnevik racking up a lot of points together on a line behind whoever is with Mooney and Ziemer. Should be able to have 2 very dangerous scoring lines.

yeah I've seen a lot of people put him and Mooney together, but think they're both more distributors than scorers. We'll see though as he's really added a scoring touch the back half of this year too. The power play should also be deadly

Some players are entering the portal with no eligibility left thinking they might get a 5th year via the new rules. That could have been an opportunity to find a center. It seems that will not be possible, though.

Still need 1C, 2C, first pairing D...

I don’t see any way the ncaa will allow it as almost all of them would be past the 5 year time frame anyway because if how college hockey is

And yeah Larson needs to be figuring that out. Roster will get better as the year goes on, but you can’t count on one of these more suited wings to be your 1C

Where is the Dagenais stuff coming from?

Certainly seems the Smith thing is fizzling out with his injury and seemingly not terribly wanting to come.

i'd guess with his injury it's probably more the Gopher staff is going to be less inclined. think that's silly on their part to get a guy who is clearly better than someone (or multiple someones) we're projected to roster. Maybe it'll change once his recovery time is better projected.

I’m not hearing Dagenais‘s name connected to any school yet. Wondering what others are hearing on him.
 

Both USA and Canada out in the U18 quarterfinals. Brutal.

Latvian goalie looks really good. US looked the better team, but that's hockey and that you have to bury your chances. Lots of people talking Cullen as a borderline top 10 pick now. Would suspect he'll be the highest pick since Cooley but we'll see how it falls.

Canada-Sweden looked pretty even. Imagine Hockey Canada is going to be full alarm bells with this one given their lack of success recently.

Seems extremely unlikely to be top 5 and top 10 maybe a coin flip. Let's see if he goes before or after Mittelstadt did (8th overall).

would suspect after with how the draft will break and that centers and defensemen almost always get more value in the top 10. I'd expect he's the first US forward off the board though. Overall his rise has been pretty neat to watch, given he was like a C rating preseason (IIRC), shot up to about a 2nd rounder midterm, and now is challenging for top 10
 

Katz heading to Penticton. Would love for us to develop a pipeline with our recruits going up there and then coming down to us. Penticton seems to have embraced it unlike some of the other teams

still listed on his socials. would envision that would be the first step would be decommitting and looking elsewhere if he wanted to go that route. exact same type of method many guys take. More open game which lets him work on his skills more and Gophers probably sure liked how Kvasnicka developed and Penticton liked having Kvasnicka.

0 reason to believe its not still the plan to have him come in the next year until it's said otherwise
