UCF's Harmon Commits

Not worried about turnovers looks like some games she was a one person show.. she could have been trying to do to much

Here’s her Central Florida bio from this past season.
Played her freshman year at Miami.
Before being injured scored 38 points against Kansas! After being injured she had still scored the most points on the team after missing 8 games.
Comes from the same basketball powerhouse high school as Kiki Rice and Kendall Dudley.

Very excited about this signing! I couldn’t find anything on the timeline for her injury recovery. But obviously a very talented player coming in. Great job, Coach P and staff! 👏

Like that she has a couple years left. Like her scoring numbers and shooting percentage. She's not as tall as Battle. FT percentage? Any rebounds? (Too lazy to look it up.)

Former 23rd rated recruit in the nation

Struggled her freshman year off the bench at Miami
Transfered to UCF where she really broke out. Seems like she can create her own shot. Gophers got a lot more athletic

Very excited! From the newpaper local to UCF last year that profiled her as UCF's rising star:

"Harmon isn’t the biggest guard or the fastest. But her game is diverse, and it’s her ability to wear many hats that makes her a nightmare to guard. "

Short, volume shooter, turnovers, low assists.

I assume she can improve her shooting with development and taking less and better shots due to better teammates and less responsibility to score.

The lack of passing and turnovers is alarming. More TOs than assists.

I don’t think this is the player they needed.

Defense is suspect, too.

I feel like whoever the Gophers get you will find an issue.

Harmon only played half the Big 12 conference season this year, but she was 8th in the Big 12 in FTA per game. Must put a lot of pressure on the defense. Also shot 86.4% from the line in conference play. Seems like a good pickup. Will need to improve her other shooting percentages. Shot 27% from 3 in conference play (only 9 games before injury), and 35.7% from 2 in conference play.

UCF HC was fired on March 30th..
Exactly. I don't fault any young player for transferring twice. She wanted more of an opportunity to play and then the coach she committed to was fired. I would do the same! Who hasn't switched jobs a few times, sometimes in a short amount of time.

Who said she is coming here to be a starter?
She's almost definitely not. We have at least four starting caliber players already, and we really just need a starting caliber post player to round it out. She'll be a great 6th or 7th off the bench though, just like Brylee Glenn was. We may be trading a bit of offensive firepower for the stifling defense that Glenn brought, but that's okay. Dawn teaches great team defense to help cover any individual gaps.

Waiting for Dawn to make the call on who starts. I liked the draft commentary the other night when Angela Dugalic got drafted ninth and the announcers noted, let that be a lesson to all you non-starters. She came off the bench and played 23 minutes a game I'd say it doesn't really matter if you have a few good to great players coming off the bench.
