I didn't realize Wisconsin had more titles than us. How did we let that happen. To the state of hockey?!

Just wait til you see what has happened on the women's side
 

Since there have been national hockey championships since 1948 and it took the U until 1974 to win the first, I question the characterization of "storied" history. If it weren't for Herb Brooks and Doug Woog (players coached by Lucia) we wouldn't have any Nattys 😞
Don't get me wrong, I love Gophers hockey and always will. But let's try to be somewhat realistic. Yes a huge number of college players come out of the state but the U hasn't capitalized on that well.
 


The order of things remains
DU: GOAT
UM and UND: Tier 1
BC/BU/UMN/uw: Tier 2

They have 11 titles. Gopher won't catch them in our lifetimes. Well, at least in the next 25 years.

Yeah and they only had 5 titles 20 years ago, so that’s why I said we’d have to go on a Denver type run. Crazy before that they didn’t win since 1969
 



Talked to some Nodak fans after the game to see who they were cheering for. All answered Denver, because “they have to cheer for their conference.” So pathetic to me, isn’t Denver supposed to be their second biggest rival lol

They hate us enough that they hate our conference as a whole more than their second biggest rival. That's actually kinda interesting when you think about it.

We have more wins and tournament wins than any program in the country. Yes we have an abnormally low amount of titles for our success but to say we don’t have a storied history is just uninformed.

We had the ridiculous rule of only having players from Minnesota for years. We would have won more titles if we had not done that.
 



2 undersized goalies were in the title game. Someone is always saying that the goalies must be monsters. Hmmm...

We are absolutely tier 1.

We have the most tournament appearances all time. Most tournament wins all time. The most wins in the history of the sport.

You focus on a single elimination tournament and base rankings solely on that. It’s naive, short sighted, and just dumb,

Correct. In addition to that Michigan has zero 16 team titles and UND has just one.
