All Things 2026 Vikings Mock Draft Thread

Sunk cost
Of course it's a sunken cost.... if you know he's a bust and he'll never be a legit NFL starting franchise QB.

In the Cardinals case, they had enough evidence to make that kind of call on bailing on Rosen. The Vikings don't have anywhere near enough information

Nobody knows that right now. I would bet about anything that they've received any number of calls on JJM's availability already. Not a doubt in my mind that people have called. I wouldn't even be surprised if they've gotten offers better than the #61 that was mentioned earlier from the Rams. And they haven't bitten yet.

My assessment is KOC is done with him so if they get offered something decent for him he is gone. I bet they are waiting to see if they get a better offer before the draft starts

Would be sweet if we could get two second rounders for him and Greenard - 1 for each.

I also get the impression that KOC has already moved on from JJ and there have been "rumors" that the coaching staff wasn't impressed with his approach to the game or his overall commitment.

I wonder if becoming a first time Dad and all the stress/lack of sleep that comes along with it played a role in that if true.

According to a lot of NFL scouts, there are only 12-14 players in this Draft that graded out as 1st Round talent compared to 20-22 last year.

They expect a lot of teams trying to trade back into late 1st/2nd Round with a ton of quality guys available in the 25-60 range.

A couple of trade suggestions and Mock Draft from the folks at Vikings Territory with a few minor tweaks from me in parenthesis:

MIN receives: Pick #40
KC receives: Jonathan Greenard

(MIN receives: Pick #53
PIT receives: JJ McCarthy)

18. DE Keldric Faulk (S Dillon Thieneman)
40. RB Jadarian Price
49. DT Caleb Banks (CB DeAngelo Ponds)
(53. WR Elijah Surratt)
82. OC Connor Lew
97. S Kamari Ramsey

The dad excuse is lame. Front office is likely corrosive. Sad.

Hock will be a free agent after this year, and was a shell of his former self in 2025. The rest of the TE's on roster are blocking guys.

If Kenyon Sadiq is there, I'm taking him.
Wonder if the bad QB play in 2025 contributed to that at all? I think it takes two years to really come back from a bad injury. We'll see.

If needed, then draft a TE in 2027.

Absolute waste if they spend a first round pick on a TE in 2026. My foot is down :)

Have you really not heard of a night nurse?

Should have been zero chance he was up nights taking care of the newborn. If he really was that dumb ... well that speaks for itself.

Um, yeah...if you could put me on "Ignore"...

10 days left, nothing else to talk about so...

Heard an interesting discussion the other day, more of just a comment really, so I was curious what the consensus here would be. I can't say for sure if I agree or disagree?

The comment was surrounding the Vikings taking a RB in this draft, potentially as early as Day 2. The take I heard was, the Vikings shouldn't be drafting an RB in this draft unless they know that player can beat out Xavier Scott (who I DO think the Vikings like to a fair extent).

I think there's at least something to that, but not sure how much. I think you take an RB, like any other position really, if one falls to you later in the draft that you simply had graded much much higher. Basically, I don't think RB is such a need that they need to target that position in this draft.

Put me down as a vote that says JJ mac gets traded before the 2026 season.

My final Mock (pending Ope approval) with Alternate option:

18. S Dillon Thieneman (Kenyon Sadiq)

49. CB DeAngelo Ponds (Jadarian Price)

82. C Sam Hecht (Elijah Surratt)

97. RB Jonah Coleman (Kamari Ramsey)

You’re off the 🕰️ 😉

I am prepared for another wasted Vikes season with everyone wondering who is to blame.

Kfan draft radio: lilty voice leber. Sht voice high talking charch and the Vox.

3 picks to go before we pick

Kenyon Sadiq
Jermod McCoy
DillonThieneman
Reuben Bain

All available

I hope McCoy falls to us, he’s going to be a better player than Theineman

I have to stay off twitter as we get close because the pick will be revealed there long before the announcement on TV

GOOD, get Sadiq outta there to remove the temptation to waste the first round pick on a TE.

There will be another just as good of one next year, if needed

LOL, everyone here is completely wrong.

Flores dictated this, guaranteed

Good potential but big injury concerns. Surprising they didn’t trade down if he’s their guy.

Nice to see Derek Falvey get back on his 🦶 so quickly.

The first of many mediocre grades, hopefully not sticking my 🦶 in my mouth, from The Athletic -

18. Minnesota Vikings: Caleb Banks, DT, Florida

This is bold (if that’s the right word). When Banks is healthy and engaged with his technique, he’s a serious problem — on talent alone, he’s definitely DT1 in this class. However, he’s not a very consistent player, and despite his athletic potential, he could bust. Banks (6-6, 330) has had two serious foot injuries in less than a year, and many teams dropped him out of the first round after he broke his foot at the combine.

The Vikings could’ve had a perfect fit to fill a need here, in Oregon safety Dillon Thieneman. Instead, they made a serious gamble on a recently injured, albeit very talented, athlete. It’s too big a risk for my taste, though I could easily be proven wrong in a year. We’ll see.

Grade: C-plus
