Right-hander Garrett Acton, who joined Minnesota’s bullpen last week following a minor trade with the Miami Marlins, picked up the victory in his Twins debut.
I believe you and I had the Twins at seven (7) total wins this season. I think we should revise our prediction to 14.
That's cool. Perhaps this Pohlad at least has a clue.
Nope and that’s the beauty of it. Every once in a while the sum of the team is greater than its parts.
Seems like it to me. From Gleeman’s column following theThat's cool. Perhaps this Pohlad at least has a clue.
Gotta tip my cap to the organization here, I love that idea.
Ope would have a stroke.Your move Wilfs...
True.Ope would have a stroke.
True.
Actually the Wild owner is one of the Twins minority investors. it would be nice if he would buy the whole thing.
Because it's likely better than the alternative.Based on the thread linked below alone, why in the hell would a Minnesota sports fan wish for ANY of the current Ownership groups to double up and buy another in this market?!?
Honestly.
Twins/Vikings/Wild/Wolves Championship appearance drought tracker
With the NFL season officially over, it’s now been a combined 97 seasons since any of them went to a championship game/series. The teams are 0-7 since then in chances to go to their championship.gopherhole.com
I disagree on the "likely" part with respect to the Twins-Wild-Vikings Owners. Their proof of concept has been demonstrated. Failure.Because it's likely better than the alternative.
There's no magical out of town owner with unlimited funds who only wants to win and doesn't care how much $$ the team loses. There are worse alternatives. Private equity buying the team and just squeezing profit out and dumping. Someone trying to move them out of the state etc. etc.I disagree on the "likely" part with respect to the Twins-Wild-Vikings Owners. Their proof of concept has been demonstrated. Failure.
- Twins / 2 Playoff Series wins this century under the Pohlads.
- Vikings / 3 Playoff wins in more than 2 decades under the Wilfs.
- Wild / 2 Playoff Series wins under Leipold in nearly 2 decades.
No Championship appearances in 35 years. There is no worse alternative. They have horrendous track records.
I'm leaving the Timberwolves out, good or bad it's still too new to pass judgement.
There's obviously nothing magical about the current Twins-Vikings-Wild Owners either. There's no magical out of town owner with unlimited funds who only wants to win and doesn't care how much $$ the team loses. There are worse alternatives. Private equity buying the team and just squeezing profit out and dumping. Someone trying to move them out of the state etc. etc.
The Wilfs & Leipold don't hire the correct people to begin with and then let them linger far too long. The Wilf's sin is not firing GM's often enough for your liking. I guess that's the Wild's sin too. The Pohlad's have been terrible owners for most of the last 35 years, no one disputes that.
But dumping them all in the same pot is silly.
Lee goes deeeeeeeep. 4-0 Twins
Well, that escalated quickly.Lee goes deeeeeeeep. 4-0 Twins
