All Things 2026 Transfer Portal Thread

Boyd out of eligibility, as well as Carrington and Rhode. Only returning starter as of now is Winter. Rapp only other player coming back that really saw many minutes.
I am hoping that Carrington applies for a waiver for an extra year because of his mental health issues. And I want to see the look on Bobloblaw‘s face when he does it.

If eligible, would be one of the best scorers to enter the portal this year. Only played 8 games his first season, maybe a medical redshirt? It is just everyone assuming there are no rules on eligibility anymore?

Update on targets vis Ryan James:

Key points:

Kyan Evans- "I then checked in with a very, very plugged in source in this situation and he told me that Evans had a zoom call today with the entire Gopher staff. Kyan’s father has also heard from Coach Medved. A visit to Minnesota will take place although it might take a bit so the parents can join Evans on the visit (obviously all schedules need to align). I was told that after a rough year on the court that Kyan needs to get back to familiarity and comfort and that is almost surely his former coach running the former system."

Nolan Groves- "The agent of Nolan Groves has spoken with the Gophers recently, the coaches can contact him today to talk about visits and it sounds like progress has been made with that. I still don’t know when yet though. As we have said, Iowa and Wisconsin have also shown interest and it sounds like the Badger interest is really building. Visits are next thing I am waiting on, coaches can talk to Nolan about that starting today."

Edit: I think 247 is glitching and briefly gave me VIP access lol

Great stuff...thanks for posting.

I admit I haven't read every post in this string, but has there been any talk of Niko looking at Kyle Evans the former CSU player?

Former CSU player Kyle Evans, who led nation in blocks, to enter portal as of 3/27.
The 6-foot-10 Evans had 115 blocks this season, which led all of Division I. His 3.3 blocks per game is well-clear of second-place 2.9 blocks per game (Ugonna Onyenso of Virginia).
Playing 29 minutes per game for the Big West regular season champions, Evans averaged 12.1 points and 8.7 rebounds per game. He shot 62% from the field. Evans was First-Team All-Big West and the Big West Defensive Player of the Year in 2025-26.

Different people can see things so completely differently. I read the information and I'm very grateful he shared it. I wanna thank him, you wanna put him in jail.
It's not just this topic I'm talking about...everything that happens in 2026 has the same 180 reaction opinions whether it is good or bad, right or wrong, smart or dumb, legal or illegal and on and on.
I don't think life was so polar opposite just a few years ago. It was more likely people would find a common ground.

If someone stole your car, would you tell the thief “no problem I would like to thank you for taking that old heap”?

Did you see my edit? I don't pay for access, the site glitched, I shared the information that was given without the knowledge that it was glitched. It's already out there now no use in deleting, was not meaning to randomly put out secret info. If the mods decide it shouldn't be here so be it, I just took what was there when I searched. Also there is nothing "copyrighted" there, that's not what that word means...

Edit: now seeing it's fan appreciation day and that article is free, even funnier.

We could give examples for days...but more comparable would be the Star Tribune or the Athletic...if I subscribe and read it....then I tell you what I read...you think I violated some law in 2026? I just don't see it that way. Maybe you are correct and technically it really is the law...IDK

Here is what I will tell you as business owner in the Twin Cities in a real life experience what did happen with your stolen vehicle example. Someone did steal the company van. I called the cops to report it. The response in 2025:
"What do you want me to do about it?" Me: Well, I got video surveillance of the guy doing it...he got a ride and was dropped off in a car with this license plate. Then, he got in our van and after a bit drives away. Cops response: "What if his friend stole the car he dropped him off in?" I said, So, if I'm hearing you right, you are not interested in doing anything about this? "That's correct."
Also, not a one time reaction to vandalism, theft etc in the last couple years. And other business owners have similar stories.
So, there is that in 2026. And if someone does go to trial, gets convicted, the judge gives them a warning not to do it again for the 13th time. That's what I see....it ain't 1950, 1965, 1975 anymore.
The accountants advice...theft is just part of doing business. The attorneys advice....well, you could pay me and maybe I can bring the guy to trial but it'll cost you 10X the value and then what...you can say you won? ....after thousands of dollars and the perp is laughing at us. Let it go is the advice in 2026.

That's what I thought as well as this kid seems to be flying under the radar. We could definitely use the size and he would really provide that rim defender in the paint to alter some shots. If he could just do a little of what Mara did for Mich it would be huge. Plus this kid can score a little.

Can someone explain to me the excitement about Nolan Groves? Barely played at all at Texas Tech and when he did he was completely underwhelming...23% from the field, 50% from the line...was a good HS player against overmatched competition but I don't think he has a high major skillset or even the potential to develop into one. Reminds me of Treyton Thompson.
