2026-27 Summit Free Agents (updated May 27)

Updated: Djobet denying this report that he is in the portal.

Djobet apparently says it's not true and asked them to take it down. Time will tell.
Thanks, I saw that last night.

I’m going to leave him on the list for a little while. If Djobet doesn’t make it official by the Final Four, I’ll take him off. I suspect he’s gone.

SDSU so far hanging onto their top players. Seems a bit surprising, I'm out of the loop and might be missing something

NDSU 1st Team All-Summit League guard Trevian Carson and SDSU guard Jaden Jackson among the latest Summit League players hitting the free agent market. NDSU's roster now basically is gutted except for junior starting guard Andy Stefonowicz.

Seems odd for the conference champion to be gutted like that. Is there coach rumored to get another job? Do they all think they'll get big NIL elsewhere?

Will there be any Summit League starters returning to their teams other than Tommies?

I’m curious if the Summit experience is similar to other low level D1 conferences. Strikes me as an awful lot of guys. Also interesting to see whether they get the paydays they are being told they will get.

Jeese McIntosh of South Dakota hits the free agent market.

Still no Tommies.

Thinking one of two possibilities.

1. Those entering (for some reason) are waiting until the official portal date after the Final Four.

2. They’re all staying for another season to chase a title and school history (first NCAA bid). They’d be the clear preseason favorite.

Unfortunately, #1 is the far more likely scenario.

🤔

I don’t know St. Thomas roster well enough to opine, but do they have players that would draw interest from programs with money and play at a higher level?

Tommies first one is really tough loss if he decides to move on. Was hoping for another season in Saint Paul. Talented young man still scratching the surface.

Too small for power 5…. Can jump but not super physical so some of that bounce goes to waste… some of these guys just don’t realize skillset wise they are at the right level… ask Kendall Blue… but if some might throw $400-500K at what do you do.. ask Kendall Blue

This really surprises me. I thought he had finally found a great fit and was only going to increase his role. He's been at two P4 programs already, so unless he has a guarantee already in place for a material upgrade, this one is a head scratcher.

Go Gophers!!

I had him pegged for1st Team All-Summit League next season. Tough loss if he indeed finds a suitable offer.

Hope the Tommies are throwing the bank (however much "bank" they have) at Minessale to keep him around for another season. If he leaves that immediately changes the Tommies from the clear preseason favorite to simply a contender among the usual suspects (SDSU, NDSU assuming a reload & Omaha if Paul Djobet stays). UST grabbing Jack Robison (Wisconsin via Lakeville) out of the portal would be a nice get.

I forgot he had a short stay in Iowa City

ORU with another one to the free agent market.

One thing I'm curious about with all these guys is, will any of them end up staying put? The grass isn't always greener and/or there's not enough money out there.
