Go Gophers!!
Brewery. The U should start a Brewery Management program and use Station 19 as a lab.Turn it back to the old Station 19 bar. Exactly the same. Or re-open Sparky's.
My guess the U will incorporate it into a renovation of Williams Arena or part of a completely new arena.

Was something special about station 19.
They tried buying when planning new football stadium but owner wouldn't sellLiterally the only reason the University should be buying that property.
They aren't in the restaurant business, so there has to be a grander plan.
Renovation or new arena has to be it.
You make too much sense! But, the chances seem slim that's the reason but if it is it'll sit vacant until 2060 when the roof of Williams Arena collapses forcing them to do something.Literally the only reason the University should be buying that property.

It's to have flexibility. Building a new space will require a larger footprint to avoid over hanging levels and obstructed view. It will need to be similar in footprint to 3M Arena. 3M goes from street to street. They could shift the arena down closer to football stadium. They could even take do Williams and leave the Pavillion and have a gap between the two. Then hope to replace Pavillion in the future.Literally the only reason the University should be buying that property.

Since Station 19 can not be torn down, could retro fit the building into Admin/Ticket offices or any number or purposes to support a new structure on that footprint.
University should hurry and get this done before the Barn’s 100th anniversary in 2028.It's to have flexibility. Before some politician gets it on the Historical Registry.University should hurry and get this done before the Barn’s 100th anniversary in 2028.

Why can't it be torn down?
I watched the Buckner game there in ‘86. The place was packed and went ape shit when it happened. This is why it has its Historical designation.Registered as an Historical Site. In another thread on the board regarding the same topic, that's not an absolute statement, but it would be quite a difficult undertaking to raze it completely.

Damn straight! Probably should knock down Northrop Auditorium and Pillsbury Hall as well. Never really cared much for that dated architecture. Before some politician gets it on the Historical Registry.
Funny. Took the kid on a tour a few weeks ago and the guide said that the architecture building was voted the ugliest building on campus.Damn straight! Probably should knock down Northrop Auditorium and Pillsbury Hall as well. Never really cared much for that dated architecture.
So the architecture school must've moved into the McNamara Center then?Funny. Took the kid on a tour a few weeks ago and the guide said that the architecture building was voted the ugliest building on campus.
The part that annoyed me on the tour was that she also said the U was a Hockey School.
Someone should tell Coyle the U is a hockey school. The part that annoyed me on the tour was that she also said the U was a Hockey School.
