Coyle is lazy and doesn't care about big time hockey success, that's not Brett's fault, but now we have to deal with it.

I hope the boosters who wanted Larson donate to the NIL fund or you will get the same results

As I've stated before, with NIL and CHL it is actually now more difficult than ever for the Gophers to compete... And this move has just made that even worse.

A big time gamble for reasons I can't understand. But, I actually think Coyle makes good hires given his constraints, outside of the one he was forced to make with Ben Johnson.

Similar to the Medved hire. Meh.

Hope the risk is worth the reward.

Say that in fans will already have Larson on the hot seat with his last resume at SCSU and that this process was done pretty quickly without mentions of talking to candidates others see more qualified and hoping for. In the end you always want people to succeed, just feel this is a huge risk for the business. Rah!

For this hire I think it has potential because of who else is supposed to be onboard for the assistant and GM role but otherwise was surprised that they didn’t land a bigger coach.

Based on his two hockey HC hires:

Tell me the University of Minnesota doesn't care about athletics, without telling me the University of Minnesota doesn't care about athletics.

or

Minnesota's Melancholy on Ice.

Gopher hockey are the two programs at the U that these stupid risks shouldn't be necessary. WTF
Wondering if that is the case anymore. Women is 3rd in the country at best, but limited success against WI/OSU and Men's blew the championship, maybe not the top program it was once seen.

3rd in the country. Men's job is about 5th best in the country. Neither of these requires risks.

I’m willing to give him a chance but I’m not real optimistic about it

Great hire and a Natty within 3 years!
Coyle and Larson are both much better at their respective jobs than Gopher hockey fans realize. I’ve seen some clueless takes.

A hire that will end up being a shockingly pleasant surprise to most Gopherholers. Or, a hire most Gopher hockey fans didn't know they needed.

After the worst season in more than 50 years, most Gopher fans knew what the rest of us already knew.

Just so the new Coach understands the importance of recruiting and playing "the right ones, not the best ones!"
