Interesting. Can’t hurt, might help. 😊

“Sources: University of Minnesota plans to hire Mike Shula as senior offensive assistant, as he’ll work with the quarterbacks and offensive staff. Shula is the former head coach at Alabama who brings more than a quarter century in the NFL, including OC at three franchises.”

Not saying our program is chopped liver, but who'd thunk Mike Shula would come to the frozen tundra to be an ASSISTANT coach? Head coach at Alabama to us......talk about a fall from grace.

Guy probably has enough money in life, some people just like a challenge…plus he might have some good recruiting contacts. I’m on board.

Limegrover. Mike Shula.

Why does it feel like PJ is shopping for coaches at Goodwill?

I get that some people here think we are bringing on retread coaches. If we were bringing them in to be our defensive coordinator or offensive coordinator. I would agree. We are bringing them on as position coaches and position assistance which means they can take their years of knowledge and really help small groups of certain members of the team at a time. This is huge. In a roster of over 100 kids it is imperative that there are enough quality coaches that can actually coach and develop small groups of kids at a time. I like this

Why buy new when gently used will do?
I was going to suggest Dick Enrico for strength coach, but after an internet search I found out that Dick passed away last December. Loved those ads.

He's been a position coach a majority of his career. You make it sound like he's a coaching legend. He's not. His Dad was.

I hope Shula has forgiven us when our marching band gleefully played Rocky Top during our bowl win. Top 10 burn, for sure.
Wut?

Why would Shula care about that?

Shula resume
Has anyone had more quality jobs than Mike Shula?
History says he'll be here one or two years and if it is two...he'll likely be the OC.

Years ago I was behind an Escalade in Eden Prairie with the vanity plate Enrico. Roll up next to the car, yep it was him. Sometimes it's the little things that make a great day.

This is great. He played QB and has been an OC and/or QB coach pretty much his whole career. An investment in Lindsey and younger QB room? It looks like it. It seemed to me that the QB coach role has been a question mark at best for a while now.

I really wish instead of hiring 10 coaches to help harbougb. We should fire him immediately . He is the worst. This is pathetic what we’re hiring to help his horrible coaching.
