Tori McKinney proves yet again she is the most important defensive and offensive player.
 

McKinney = spark for the win.
Battle = started off trying to do her bull in a china shop which makes me crazy. Grateful for her points with Tori out.
Centers = Tonga was non-existent today. Seemed off from the start. I don’t think I’ve seen her or Hart give up so many post points.
Groholski = no points? WTH?
Braun = most underrated player. Rebounding, blocks, just all-around disrupter.
Sunday = they better be ready for a brawl inside. And hope that the refs call some on Ole Miss.

Grace had no points but had 8 rebounds (tied with Battle), five assists, and one steal. So she did contribute.
 

Huge relief to see some offense in the 4th quarter, Rah!
 









When they play as a team they have a great chance to win like they. did, thought it was entertaining basketball.

Green Bay clearly had her as a focus of their defense. Everytime she touched the ball, they were on her like flies on a cow pie. I thought we might have been able to run some specific sets to get her clean looks, but even the shots she did get off, they were mostly if not entirely contested. Sometimes the ball just doesn't drop. But as others have said, she contributed considerably in other ways.

Yep. You take what the defense is giving you, and most of the time the defense is gonna try really hard to focus on the player who is essentially a 50/40/90 shooter. Then that will leave everyone else a little more open.
 


Thank goodness we fired Whalen, and hired a real coach. Big difference.

It’s annoying and brutal that some fans still feel the need to complain about Whalen. Braun, Battle, Woodson n Heyer were all recruited by her and we are fortunate they all stayed. With Coach in ur name U would think that if U didn’t have anything good to say about them U could show some class and not post about it. Every1 who knows basketball can see the improvement and evolution in this team. I was happy to see Gopher legends Whalen and Banham celebrating yesterday’s victory in the suites. Go Gophers !

B4 somebody corrects my post yes I know Heyer left but she spent the majority of her career here and contributed to the improvement in the program.

I agree. Even if Whalen proved not to college head-coach material, she at least set the program up for Plitzuweit. Who could the Gophers have hired instead of Whalen that the team would've been better off than they are now? Coaches like Carolyn Kieger and Marisa Moseley seemed like good hires by Penn St and Wisconsin and they failed just as much, if not more than Whalen. It worked out that Whalen got the core players for Plitzuweit to work with.
The crime was the previous AD hiring a fraud in Stollings instead of a serious coach, wasting the Zahui B. and Banham years.
