Gopher Hockey Recruiting

Can take Pahlsson's spot as a center to develop and let Pahlsson transfer.

Maybe you need to bring this kid in to get Dupont. If so, do it and cut Harris/Falloon.

Dupont is the highest scoring ppg 2027 draft eligible D in WHL.
Harper is the highest scoring ppg 2027 draft eligibile D in OHL.
Both right handed. You'd be going super young but the D would actually be able to move the puck.

Whipple - Dupont
Transfer - Harper
Rombach - Gruba
Grimes

Not much talent to poach from Augustana.

The goalie and let Airey transfer
Maybe Tyden Bergeson to keep building out the Moorhead pipeline

Apparently Jack Pridham is no longer committed to BU? So ummmm ya...

Humphrey's teammate should be a top target.

Need to retain
Ziemer
Mooney

Can retain for at least one more year
Moore
Moe (prove it year)
Townsend (prove it year)
Hendrickson (prove it year)
Pritchard (prove it year)

the problem with any of the above is we now have no idea who's still considered committed, especially if they haven't signed an NLI. Don't think someone has been ghost recruiting

I get what you're saying but there's about 20000 iterations of this at this point

Oh this will all evolve a ton. I just think it's valuable to track ideal state over time as players leave or more things become clear.

more just meaning way too many unknowns. Pridham also said he wasn't going to BU last year and that he intended to sign and play in Canada if he didn't make it. you're going to be making a hell of a lot of these posts if we do an update as every guy hits the portal haha

The buddies at other schools are already on the phone talking to the players about their program and coaches.

Seems like Airey is probably gone which is expected.

Raboin, Barr, and Fersch all have goalies to plug right in, other than Fersch's likely going pro.

But I thought you said we have zero shot at Fersch. So why do we care who his goalies are?

When I learned his salary the probability went up to 1%.
What happened to the Russian goalie you loved at BU? And, all of their high draft picks certainly did not bring them to the promise land. But, I'm sure you forgot that you keep telling us how good BU was going to be this year.....

Did he go pro? If he's back a third year I'd bet he'll be pretty solid for them next year.

Lol the only thing I’ve seen you post about on these forums is bitching about other fans
I only bitch and call out 1 poster, who really isn't a fan, as he continues to throw crap out there and never admits he was wrong and only bitches about the Gophers

Good news: I see Burnevik, Hall, and Henricks from SCSU now following Gopher hockey on Instagram. That would be a huge start to the offseason to steal those guys.
Pretty good. Huge shame their center that was great at face offs went pro. Would have been a big missing piece. Henricks can be middle pairing maybe but still needs a top pairing.

IF we can retain our top guys and bring in the top SCSU guys I think we’d be in solid shape on the forwards, defense would still need some work/development. Really just think this program needs one huge splash CHL commitment this offseason and the vibes would change a good amount.

Yup forward unit looks mostly fine other than gotta solve face off issue. And I expect one of Moe Townsend or Hendrickson to bounce.

Saw Nash Roed now following Gophers hockey and future of pride on ice accounts. If we can get Nolan from SCSU and in turn a Nash commitment once August comes around that’d be some nice pickups. Nash looks like he’ll be even better than Nolan.

Would like a reason to get excited about next year. The hire certainly didn’t do that for many people. Making a splash by infusing some talent into the roster could do that.

Need a good offseason to be excited, but it’s realistic that we could end up with some combination like this in the top 6:
Ziemer - CHL/Transfer - Mooney
Hall - Roed - Burnevik

That would be two good scoring lines. Moore and Moe on the third line would round it out nicely. Defense needs work though.

Completely forgot about Cullen. He’s definitely gotta be top 6. Could replace him with Hall or put Mooney back at center and put him on that top line. Kvasnicka could push for top 6 role too. If we get Burnevik coupled with one more SCSU guy and maybe a CHL or transfer, this forward group could look very lethal.

Hard to believe - maybe "disappointed" is a better word - Gopher Athletics doesn't have more support in the community. Twin Cities area may not be "huge," but there's industry & money in the area . . . where's it going?

UMN doesn't have big donors. The ones with lots of money are probably turned off by the ridiculous direction of the university itself.
