All Things 2026 Minnesota Vikings Off-Season Thread

It seems like a lot, absolutely, although after looking at these numbers, it sure isn't terrible.

Have to remember that for a lot of that time, Tyreek Hill was taking a LOT of attention away from Waddle

Giving up a 1st round pick+ for any WR not in the top 10 is an overpay IMO. And Waddle is not that.

I'm not completely disagreeing with the basic concept of that argument.

But I will at least say in this case, the Broncos are a team that was in the AFC Champ game a couple months ago and they acquired a proven player in his prime for the 30th pick in the draft; a draft that most consider to be a very weak draft. It's far from the worst trade I've ever seen.

Impossible to take someone seriously that would rank the Vikings in the 20's for a power ranking after the first week of Free Agency, unless they are strictly using the metric that spending a lot of money makes you better.

It's not the Russel Wilson trade or anything. But the 49'ers just signed Christian Kirk for less than $10 million. I'd rather have someone like him and keep my draft picks.

This may not be sexy but this is one helluva signing. The Vikings should have an elite group of specialists from K, to P, to LS.

always hard to know what to make of a guys numbers when they're playing for a non-competitive team. But Wright was good last year. Hopefully Hekker's numbers skew back to his prior performance this year

Kevin Seifert dropped a story that the vikes are not holding back on spending. Just another dipsht media person being the megaphone for the vikes org. Times up NFL. Everyone knows your stories are trash.

The NFL now owns ESPN which employs Seifert.

It's like Pravda covering the Soviet hockey team.

Wentz is probably a pretty decent comp for JJ as well. Makes plays off platform but scrambling not the name of the game. Good sized arm but struggles reading field at times. Grew up in a heavy PA style offense.

Kyler does many things only Kyler can do. Can’t say those are habits you want for JJM if it’s ever going to work out

What is Leber smoking?

He knows the playbook so Carson is ahead. Kylar freelancing is #2. JJ #3 by default because we’ve now decided the more popular take is he’s a bust so let’s roll with it

Literally the only remote attempt I could see trying to logic this.

Also our definitions of “playing well” seem to have softened substantially

Why can’t he just have an incorrect opinion🤷‍♂️

certainly can. i'm just trying to figure out how logically you could come to that conclusion
Maybe you’re giving him too much credit regarding the bolded 😉.

I listened to the FAN this year for all non-national broadcasts, as NFL ticket wasn’t in my budget, and I wasn’t impressed by his sideline insights.

I’m sure he’s a good dude, but….

Leber has been pretty vocal all offseason about not being a Kyler Murray fan so I guess I'm not shocked to see him say that. Wonder if he actually believes it.

Wentz wants to be in Minnesota, he's been with KOC for a year now, and he has seen firsthand what his competition is.

Based on the missed games history of both Murray and JJM, I have absolutely no doubt that Wentz thinks he can at some point be the starter for the Vikings. Why not?

I know both Faribault and Owatonna Godfather's Pizza are still in operation.
Thanks, Alex had one and I loved it growing up. I thought they had went kaput.

One of my joys when I visit MN is stopping at the Cloquet Taco John’s and destroying some soft shell tacos and potato oles; vastly superior to Taco 🔔.

Totally with you on Taco John's vs Taco Bell.

Nolo contendere.

Potato Oles dipped in sour cream and hot sauce is a guilty pleasure...and I pray to the heavens that at no point is Wentz starting for the Vikings next season.

i do always lol at tweets like this. "coaches clearly told him he's QB2". Or, he likes the organization, is given a chance to compete, his family is local, and he wants to be on a team that's a winner towards the tail end of his career. No team is promising anyone a starting spot or backup spot in the NFL. They all realize they're going to compete. Same as I'd assume JJM probably isn't just like oh well my seasons over i'm the 3rd string now because they must've told Murray he's the starter and Carson he's the backup
