For some reason, Florida State down by one, decides to try for a 3 for the last shot against Duke, shot is no good, Duke recovers, game over, Duke 80-FSU-89.

Clearly the bigger programs are more deserving than a team who earned the spot through three or four days of nail biting win or go home because your season is over games. Our betters know better than us.
 

I’m sure this has been said before, but the Big XII tourney court makes the games really hard to watch. The Houston-BYU game on that all-gray floor is rough, and it should be an entertaining game to watch, which sucks.

Totally agree. You lose the players in the gray floor. However, the orange ball, any bright shoes, and the Phillips 66 sign really pop off the screen. 😅
 







The Big 12 has played the tournament in Kansas City since 2008 (skipping 2009 for some reason), so I would assume they had an old court stored somewhere in the arena.

Really nice ovation for him from most of the arena last night when he left the floor for the last time. People from all fan bases appreciated him. Great example of the good side of college sports.

100% agree. I’m not sure a lot of thinking went into this from the start. Someone saw the sparkly bauble and thought it would be cool.

I thought those specially designed courts generally were refinished and sold after the tournaments were complete. Although they may have a generic one laying around without all the Big XII and sponsor logo markings that they can quickly doctor up.

It'll be interesting what they roll out. I'm guessing they're needing to work through the overnight hours to get this done.

A little factoid: New Coke was introduced as a means for Coca Cola to switch their plants from using cane sugar to high fructose corn syrup. They knew people would recognize the change in flavor so they created a "new Coke" with a completely different taste in order for classic Coke purists to never recognize their soda was no longer using cane sugar.
