Tonight I was in Des Moines at a bar during Happy Hour. While this is Big 10 country, I was still surprised they had the Oregon-Maryland game on TV. Not exactly a traditional match up.

It appeared there were more patrons in the bar I was at than at the United Center. No hyperbole.

Tonight I was in Des Moines at a bar during Happy Hour. While this is Big 10 country, I was still surprised they had the Oregon-Maryland game on TV. Not exactly a traditional match up.

That is likely true. Hardly anyone in the building for either game despite a local team playing. They usually rope off the upper deck and go GA for the first night but didn’t this year. The sparse crowd was spread out even more.

The torrential rains probably kept a few patrons inside who would have left and some away who might have come.

No, it was just a pre-concert bite for me. I went small glass of whatever that house lager is and a Weisswurst with fries.

Very tasty and under $20. Not sure if it was cheaper the Happy Hour timing.
