Second NCAA Committee Reveal - Gophers # 15

Agree with you about being surprised if the Gophers do not host as a 4 seed. Of the bracketologies that I've seen, its 3-2 in favor of Minnesota over North Carolina to host. ESPN, Her Hoop Stats, and CBS Sports all have the Gophers as a 4 seed. USA Today (written by an UNC guy) and theixsports have UNC over the Gophers.

The AP Poll is irrelevant, I believe and hope, to the tournament seeding process. Still, I was surprised to see the magnitude of the UNC support over the Gophers. 24 out of 31 voters ranked UNC over Minnesota this week.
Yes, I saw that Title XI updated theirs after I posted above. He didn’t really offer any explanation for why he had us at #16 to begin with. I really think some of these people actually forgot that one regular season game was played after the last reveal.

Otherwise, how could we win a Quad 1 road game and fall from 15 to 16 AND have Michigan State also drop out of the Top 16? Just seems like this guy was hell-bent on finding any excuse he could to get North Carolina and Kentucky into hosting spots. He might even have mentioned that Kay’s injury hurt Kentucky but they are a better team now.

True about Kay helping Kentucky significantly, but the NCAA has never seeded that way. Yes, they will drop a team if a star player is known to be unavailable for the tournament, but not the converse. Remember in 2004 Whalen returned but we were just a 7-seed, even though our performance with her in the lineup warranted a 2-seed. I actually felt bad for Kansas State at the time. How would you like to be a 2-seed and be an underdog in the second round?

"Underdog"... at least in our minds... with the Whalen/McCarville team back, everyone was an underdog.
What a game... what a run!!!

The
The purchase receipt had 3/20 & 3/21. I called back and was told they are not sure of the dates and will know more Saturday evening. But no worries, the tickets will be adjusted accordingly.
Go Gophers & see you at the games.

I purchased by phone 612-624-8080.... was on hold for about 20 minutes... sales are brisk. You can probably do online also.
I also called in as I couldn't find a link in GOPHERSPORTS.COM. Not a 20-minute wait for me. I was told the tickets were being offered to ST holders at this time. I didn't get an email, so thanks to All Ears.

I am a season ticket holder and just called, but was told the tickets are currently only available to certain season ticket holders. The top 100? The agent I spoke to said to wait until an email arrives. So, guess that's what I'll do!

Come to Gopher Women's Basketball Selection Show on Mar 15th. The doors open at 6:00pm.
Support your team... they have worked hard to get this far.
Go Gophers!!

I didn't receive an email notification. I just tried calling this morning, but phones lines were down. I recall the lines being down last time we hosted. I tried later and got through. I inquired as to whether I would be given a window to purchase tickets, but she said I could purchase now.
Could be that they are now sending emails?

Tried calling a few minutes ago & phones were down. Sent email to [email protected].

Interesting about the ticket sales. I've been missed before on the email tree. I'm definitely not special. I hope they didn't get an advanced heads-up about not hosting.

Where is this being hosted?
Williams Arena... pretty sure that it is not invite only as Justin & Lynnette talked about it on Kfan doing our loss to OSU.
I have been to these shows several years ago, but at that time they were in the Club Room... this event is courtside.
Check with Gophers Sports about details.

as a STH I got an email about this.. you do have to RSVP

Is there any indications when tickets will go on sale to the public, I supposed after the selection show, well that is if they get to host.

I remember it being said they were going to announce the Top 16 in alphabetic order on Saturday but I haven't seen the time/place reported anywhere else yet except for this:

Since I don't know how to embed X/Twitter posts, if that's possible:

The top 16 seeds for the 2026 NCAA Tournament will be announced in alphabetical order on ESPN at approximately 3:15 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, in between the SEC Men's Basketball Semifinals

Anyone gotten additional updates on the ticket sale timeline? To be honest, I wasn't impressed when I called. As a season ticket holder, I felt like I was dismissed and just told to wait for an email and I could buy tickets later, but not any info on when the presale would be or when tickets would go on sale for the public. I don't know when they plan on opening sales to the general public, but I'd imagine it wouldn't be long after the top 16 announcement on Saturday. And I definitely haven't received an email yet.

It was easy for me just called last Wednesday identified as season ticket holder and purchased 2 tickets, one row up from usual seats. Suggest you try again.

I sent an email to Gopher Fan Relations. They responded that the presale was in the process of accepting orders. They reserved my seats. I told them I had not received an email alerting me of the presale. They were going to look into the reason I had not received an email.

Did they confirm your Gopher Score ranking? I just got a reply to my email and was told the NCAA limits how many they can currently sell, so they are only allowing the top 100 Gopher Score season ticket holders to purchase tickets at this time. They said they'd send a link out tomorrow to all other season ticket holders. So either everyone who has been posting about buying tickets has a top 100 Gopher Score ranking, or the ability to buy tickets is pretty random based on which ticket agent responds!

I was told when I called that the ticket sales for non-season ticket holders would begin shortly after the selection show on Sunday evening. I believe the ESPN selection show begins at 7:00.

As I've stated before, the Gopher Ticket email tree seems to always miss me when notifications to ST holders about game tickets go out. They can always find me if I owe them money. Interesting. If i didn't follow Gopher Hole, I'd miss a lot of ticket info.

Same here! For example, I did not get any emails about the Selection Sunday event allegedly happening at the Barn. I probably wouldn't attend anyways due to the snow, but it's frustrating how inconsistent the communication is.

I also just got an email back and was told the link to buy tickets would be going out to season ticket holders tomorrow.

I also just renewed my ST for next year. Got an email confirmation for that. Shrug!
