I lost a little respect for Niko against Maryland. That guy Coit was killing us and no one could stop him one-on-one. How easy would it have been to make the decision to double-team him and force other Maryland players beat us. Failure!

Certainly should have doubled on the dagger three. Maryland only had seven seconds on the shot clock after the time-out. Double Coit and he’s forced to give up the ball (or shoot with four arms around him) with little time forcing a quick decision by whoever receives the psss. At a minimum—you force someone else besides the hot hand to beat you. Everybody was a step slow yesterday—hangover from MSU against a team desperate to win.

Plus if you force them to take a 2, worst case scenario it's tied and you hold the ball for the last shot.

The guy took the ball 30 feet from the hoop and went right into a move and contested 3. There wasn't event time to double on that shot considering where the floor was spread. They tried different things and the kids just made shots. We had chances to win comfortably but turned the ball over or missed shots that would have sealed it.
