There's a player on the Scarlet Knights' roster named Precious Gem but wins for the team have been more like rare gems. Their lone conference victory was eked out over Penn State three weeks ago (76-72), undoubtedly fueled by the chance to stick it to the player who (when she wasn't benched) led the Scarlet Knights last season and then transferred to PSU, Kiyomi McMiller. The Rutgers roster is tall but not efficient, shooting .356 and allowing .410. They allow about seven three pointers per game, so the Gophers may want to keep that 71 percent shooting from three at Iowa going at Piscataway. Speaking of Iowa, Rutgers opened the conference season playing Iowa and got doubled up, 79-36 (Maryland also doubled them up). The Scarlet Knights, who have lost five in a row, do have a winning 8-7 record at Jersey Mike's Arena but they are a sub-par team the Gophers must beat (more sub puns welcomed).

Truly good teams do not have hangover losses to bad teams.
They better get dialed in right now.

It's crazy how this team can go cold and do a complete flip from the Iowa road game. Pretty rough at the 4:38 mark in the 3rd Qtr.

Super teams like UCLA and UConn definitely do not have hangover losses to bad teams, but there are some examples of good teams even in the Big Ten being upset by bad teams this season.

Now good teams still have off games and still find a way to grind out ugly wins when they need to, which hopefully we will be able to do.
