Life has interfered with the time, such as it was, that it took to write my opponent game preview blurbs. I doubt they will return this season
Thanks for all of your efforts. They will be missed!Life has interfered with the time, such as it was, that it took to write my opponent game preview blurbs. I doubt they will return this season

Agree. You provided more depth and insight. Hope all is well with you and hope you are still able to post tidbitsWill miss your reports, Iggy. IMO they were much better than we ever get from the local newspapers.
Sorry to hear that. Always enjoyed the extra information.Life has interfered with the time, such as it was, that it took to write my opponent game preview blurbs. I doubt they will return this season
In his absence, perhaps someone who was at the Gopher's 2004 NCAA tournament victory over UCLA in the Barn can step up with some memories or highlights from that victory.Life has interfered with the time, such as it was, that it took to write my opponent game preview blurbs. Loudest I have ever heard the Barn. It was incredible. For one thing, it was the first time we were seeing Whalen in five weeks, since she'd been out with a broken wrist. I and many others wondered if she'd really be able to shoot, but she dived back in like she hadn't missed a minute. And there were a lot of future WNBA stars in that game, including Nikki Blue (who I think joined Whalen in scoring more than 30), Lisa Willis and Noelle Quinn, in addition to Whalen and McCarville (and Anderson, who I think played professionally overseas?).In his absence, perhaps someone who was at the Gopher's 2004 NCAA tournament victory over UCLA in the Barn can step up with some memories or highlights from that victory.
Hmm, might have to watch the replay of the game on You Tube, at least it used to be posted there,In his absence, perhaps someone who was at the Gopher's 2004 NCAA tournament victory over UCLA in the Barn can step up with some memories or highlights from that victory.
Agreed . It was an amazing game and atmosphere. Cheryl Reeves sat below us and she was into the game.Loudest I have ever heard the Barn. It was incredible. You must not remember last year when the Gopher defense held her to taking only 5 shots and making 3 of them. They did a great job keeping the ball out of her hands and if I remember right were one of the only Big Ten teams to keep her scoring lower like that last year. Now it still didn't work because they had other options to play through, but it was a nice defensive experiment!I wouldn't be surprised if Betts go 20/20.
Kept her from shooting but not from getting the ball. She had 11 assists, the only double-figures assist game of Betts’ career. You must not remember last year when the Gopher defense held her to taking only 5 shots and making 3 of them. They did a great job keeping the ball out of her hands . . .
Oh yeah, you're right. Totally missed that when I looked back at the box score!Kept her from shooting but not from getting the ball. She had 11 assists, the only double-figures assist game of Betts’ career.
Nice to have a coach that finally knows what they are doing. This program is finally going to the tourney behind Coach P after the long drought with Whay & friends.
Agree going 1-1 on the west coast trip would be huge. After that the schedule gets a little better but have to take care of business. They are going to need to get a few more quality wins to make the tourney. Thank goodness they got the W for USC because next 3 games are all very difficult and need to find a way to go at least 1-2 in them which then puts them at 500 for big 10 play. After that the schedule gets a bit more favorable besides going to Iowa and Illinois, they get Ohio State, Nebraska, Michigan State all at home.
This team should be able to finish over 500 in big 10 play. Interested to see how coach tries to play UCLA tonight!
Rah!
Last year we allowed Betts to pass the ball while we collapsed and lost by 26. This year UCLA outside support is even older and stronger. Posted before. I hope we let Betts go 1 on 1 score as fit or make her earn from the FT line. Lot of bench to use to foul as needed. Only 68% FT shooter. Could be trips down the floor of 1 or none points. Just need to make the foul on the floor before it is the and 1 situation.Oh yeah, you're right. Totally missed that when I looked back at the box score!
I'd add "not having a good game"Haven't seen a lot of speculation of the disappearance of Amaya in the 2nd half of the USC game. Sick, injured, attitude adjustment or the fact the Glen was a defensive gnat?
