All Things 2025 Playoffs and Bowl Thread

Caught the second half of Hawaii/Cal game. Very entertaining! Northwestern handling Central Michigan with ease.

Looks like tough sledding overall this year for the Group of 5 against power conferences in 2025. After Minnesota's win today, and counting the CFP games, teams from P4 (plus Washington State), are 8-1.

Results:
  • Oregon defeated James Madison, 51-34. CFP Round 1
  • Mississippi defeated Tulane, 41-10. CFP Round 1
  • Washington defeated Boise State, 38-10. LA Bowl
  • NC State defeated Memphis, 31-7. Gasparilla Bowl
  • Washington State defeated Utah State, 34-21. Idaho Potato Bowl
  • Louisville defeated Toledo, 27-22. Boca Raton Bowl
  • Northwestern defeated Central Michigan, 34-7. Sports Bowl
  • Minnesota defeated New Mexico, 20-17. Rate Bowl
  • Hawaii defeated California, 35-31. Hawaii Bowl
Two more games left with that type of match-up. Cincinnati Vs. Navy and Pittsburgh Vs. East Carolina.

It's a reverse from last year when the Group of 5 went 5-3 in such games.
  • Penn State defeated Boise State, 31-14. Fiesta Bowl/CFP QF
  • Memphis defeated West Virginia, 42-37. Frisco Bowl
  • UNLV defeated California, 24-13. LA Bowl
  • Florida defeated Tulane, 33-8. Gasparilla Bowl
  • Toledo defeated Pittsburgh, 48-46. Sports Bowl
  • Navy defeated Oklahoma, 21-20. Armed Forces Bowl
  • TCU defeated Louisiana, 34-3. New Mexico Bowl
  • East Carolina defeated NC State, 26-21. Military Bowl

Yesterday was 72deg dry and sunny in PHX.

Today in NYC looks like high of 26deg and it's supposed to dump 8inch snow this weekend, for I'm sure some nice flight delays and inevitable cancellations.

Huge swing in the Military Bowl, ECU looked like they scored a TD to go up 17-7, it was waived, Pitt picks up a dropped fumble and takes it to the house. 14-10 Panthers.

Again, it's a shame Pitt isn't playing Penn State right now.

Glad we aren't playing the Pinstripe Bowl this year, looks like they are playing on dirt.🤣🤣🤣
Yeah, field looks like crap and it is cold. Playing Clemson would have been fun from the name standpoint but in terms of location, weather and field conditions we definitely got the better location.

At least Pitt didn't lose to a MAC team in Detroit like last season. On the other hand, they at least took that game into overtime.

Terry Smith at Penn State just seems like a good guy. Glad he is going to get to keep coaching at Penn State under Campbell.

Big Ten now 5-0 in bowls so far.
The B1G is the only conference with a winning record, and it's a perfect 5-0.

Pitt loses to East Carolina. Game MVP is... Anthony Smith (ECU WR).

13-7 Virginia.

Missouri nearly ranked all year and finished 8-5 with zero wins over a bowl team and 0-5 against ranked teams.
