would four turnovers, one failed fourth down attempt and two missed field goals have been for Michigan on Saturday in the baseball park game in Chicago? How many potential points did that Michigan team spot the Wildcats in their …Saturday in the park…walk off win.

Northwestern is a fine, tough team and Minnesota will need to play one of their best games of the season on Saturday to do this, but this Gopher Team can…and will beat Northwestern in that damn old baseball park in Chicago!

Don't turn the ball over, and will win. Wrigley will also feel like Huntington South as well

If Minnesota scores 25 northwestern has no chance
 





Let’s hope our punt coverage team doesn’t set up several yards deep in the end zone when we have a chance to pin their offense inside their own five.

They’ve scored 23 6 times
If they score 14-24 and none of them are garbage time it is probably anyone’s game
 

Norrhwestern’s offense has out-scored Minnesota’s this year, and Northwestern’s defense has allowed fewer points than Minnesota’s. And the Gophers are on the road where, in all four games this year, they have played like crap or worse. The point spread is, sadly, justified. The Gophers are averaging 18 points per game in B1G play. I suspect that number will be a loss against NW. Our big name guys have to get it done at Wrigley. The defense needs to help—our offense needs turnovers that shorten the field. Or maybe some special team K/O or punt returns that deliver a short field? Probably disregard the prior sentence; not gonna happen. Go Gophers!

Good points Gophergrandpa. You may very well be totally correct in all of your assumptions. By reading all of your rock solid points, a Gopher fan has a lot of reasons to want to totally give up and pencil this one in as a loss.

However, in my lifetime (78years)of watching Big Ten football, as I recall Northwestern football, It doesn’t seem to me that Chicago land has always been all that much of a home town supporter to the Wildcats. In some ways NotreDame, has always had a special place in Chicago in the hearts of many of the masses of Chicago Land.

Fitzgerald held some loyalty, but now he is in a real battle with NU.

It feels to me as though Northwestern is kind of like a team with no home field to defend. For a short time this season they played on a practice field by the lake and now they are in the gum chewers baseball park. Even in their first game there when Michigan tried to hand them the ball game…the place proved to be a heartbreaking temporary shelter for them.

So this will be kind of like a bowl game for both teams. The Gophers sometimes do pretty well in bowl games.

I think this Gopher team should go ahead and show up for the game. At least I hope so.
