For Youtube TVers:

My understanding before the Disney (ESPN/SEC/ACC networks) and YouTube dispute was that you could log in to the ESPN Watch App with your YouTube TV credentials and stream whatever SEC+ is.

With the contract dispute, there's no access.

Does anybody know if any other streaming services offer free trials that include SEC+ access?

For me to watch every Gophers basketball game this year, I'd need:
  1. YouTube TV (BTN, FOX, FS1, CBSSN)
  2. Big 10+ (Presseason cupcakes)
  3. ESPN/Hulu (Mizzou)
  4. Peacock (Preseason and Big 10 games)
What a joke. And I'm probably missing one...

I think that's the master plan. To get us to sign up and pay for every single streaming plan available on our TV. $$$ Deviously brilliant! :)

I think you are missing TRU TV from your list for the 2nd game in Palm Springs. Could also be on CBS if they reach the Big 10 Semi-Finals.

I believe both Fubo and DirecTV Stream offer free 5 day trials and both offer SEC Network (...and this would provide SECN+ in the ESPN app...).

Ohhh, good catch on Tru TV. Thankfully, I think YouTube TV includes that. But I'm afraid to check.

I got the antenna for CBS. They can't take that from me!

I should add one thing for those not aware: If you haven't done so already, you will need to authenticate your TV provider in the ESPN app so it knows you get SEC Network (and thus can get SECN+ games). Go to Settings -> Manage TV Provider in the ESPN app, then follow the prompts and login to your TV provider from phone/tablet/computer.

Sounds like a lot of work.

SECN+ Sucks.

Part 2 of the great master plan. In addition to making them sign up for every single streaming platform out there, lets make these suckers jump through every possible weird little hoop we can find in their desperate efforts to pay us more money to watch sports. Bwwaaa ha ha ha!
 

DirecTV is supposed to offer access to ESPN's streaming but is slow rolling it. Is there a free trial or are we stuck paying for a month to wathc one game?
 

I’d prefer to see every Gopher and/or Big Ten game on TV but have no issues going old school with radio when not willing to pony up for BTN+. Not the end of the world with the volume of games we still get on “regular” TV stations. In some ways radio is better.

I think you could replace the top three with FuboTV. I'm not 100% sure, but I am dropping YouTube TV tonight and moving on.

This is where I'm leaning out of principle. I did this last year vs. N. Texas, and I'm happy I didn't have to witness that 14-point first half. Poor Grimmer was beside himself.

It should be live now for everyone. It’s kind of a pain in the ass, but you have to activate your ESPN Unlimited account buried in the Directv menus. I received an email walking me through the process, but the below link also explains how to do it.

If you have ever watched Big Ten Network on the Fox Sports app, the process is similar. You need to log into your TV provider from within the app so it knows you have a subscription to a provider/tier for that channel.

(screenshots from ESPN app on my phone)

From ESPN app, go to settings:
1000001511.jpg

Then, Manage TV provider:
1000001512.jpg

You will get a link to choose your TV provider and log in.

I guess whether one thinks it sucks or not is a matter of opinion, but I personally find it better than BTN+. Not only is it free (again, if you already get SEC Network), but unlike the largely student-produced BTN+ productions, SEC Network+ (as well as ACC Network Extra) telecasts are generally higher quality (more cameras, better camera work, better replays better announcers, better graphics, etc). Just my opinion.
 

I'm gonna keep my fingers crossed that there is an illegal stream link on reddit.
