Who has Purdue beaten to put them in the "pretty clear" better than you thought? I thought they were bad, but not bad enough that Beating ball state or southern illinois moved the needle.

I don't know if they've beaten anyone good.

But:

Purdue's offense is legit IMO... when they don't make turnovers.

Their defense played well against us (although the game plan defensively vs the gophers is kinda obvious).

I thought they’d lose to ball state

I didn’t say they were good. I said they were better than I thought. I had them at 1-11. They have legit shot in the next two. Could end up anywhere from 2-10 to 4-8. Which is better than I thought


Likewise I had Oregon overrated. I thought Oregon was head and shoulders above everyone except Ohio state.
They lost to Indiana and needed overtime for 0-3 penn state.
Going into the year I thought they’d definitely end up 10+ wins.
Now I would say they probably do but not definitely

I think it might be time to move Northwestern to the story of the season category. It does not look like a sure win anymore, in facted they might be favorites.

We will learn a lot about them in the next few weeks.

they beat two lame duck coaches and a backup QB

They’re better than I thought at beginning of the season though.
If I was remaking categories I’d probably switch them and Michigan state but I am not going to remake the categories
 

Minnesota can win 4 if they play solid defense and have a little luck.

Teams that were bad and suddenly DGAF ... they scare me. When it doesn't matter anymore, some folks get really focused.

We lost to Cal. Cal then got beaten 34-0. Yet I thought we were a better-than-average team. We struggled to beat Rutgers and Purdue. I figured Rutgers and Purdue were much improved. We destroyed Nebraska. I sensed we're truly a good team. Then came Iowa. I now realize my foolishness; we are on the same level as Rutgers and Purdue. Hopefully, we'll be able to win one of our remaining home games to get bowl eligible. In the off-season, Fleck, please increase salaries and upgrade our coordinators. There's always next year.

I think we are the same level as Purdue and Rutgers
I do think Purdue is much improved. Rutgers is a little worse than last year.

I personally think there are 3 teams left on the schedule at the level of Rutgers, Purdue, and Minnesota

I know you're not updating your original format to reflect the actual reality of the season as it unfolds.

But short of bad injuries I don't see any way the last two home games are not in the "wins" section.


Pretty incredible to think about winning every home game and losing every road game ... but it is sadly on the table.

If I was redoing it I would switch Michigan state and northwestern

But after yesterday I’d probably just move northwestern into story of the season category
