lol.After the latest week:
- ESPN’s Mark Schlabach and Kyle Bonagura both have Minnesota in the Sports Bowl. The former has the Gophers playing Central Michigan, the latter projects a game against Western Michigan.
- CBS Sports projects Minnesota in the Sports Bowl against Ohio
- Athlon Sports predicts an appearance in the Sports Bowl agains Ohio
- College Football News projects a Music City Bowl appearance for Minnesota against Vanderbilt

- Sports Illustrated projects Minnesota in the Rate Bowl versus Kansas
Sports Bowl is Detroit, in case anyone was wondering. I like either Rate or Music City...may even think about going. Hopefully the Gophs surprise and move up in the slotting. After the latest week.
- Both ESPN writers have Minnesota in the Rate Bowl. Kyle Bonagura projects a matchup with TCU, while Mark Schlabach sees a game against Baylor
- USA Today predicts a Rate Bowl game against Baylor
- Sports Illustrated predicts a Rate Bowl appearance versus Baylor
- Last Word On Sports has Minnesota in the Rate Bowl against Houston
- Pro Football Network is putting Minnesota in the Music City Bowl against Auburn
- Athlon Sports has Minnesota in the Music City Bowl versus Florida
- College Football News projects a Sports Bowl game against Miami OH
I went to the Music City Bowl when we beat #25 Arkansas in 2002. A good time if you get the chance. Nashivlle isn't the same city today (alot bigger) but still a good time.Sports Bowl is Detroit, in case anyone was wondering. I like either Rate or Music City...may even think about going. Hopefully the Gophs surprise and move up in the slotting.
It also needs some divisions so that teams have something to play for.The 18 team Big Ten needs some better bowl affiliations ...
Odds are pretty good for it. Since 1999 there have only been two MAC opponents and that was in the 5-7 seasons. The rest have all been AQ/P5/P4.I just want a P4 opponent, preferably. Playing someone like Miami in Ohio in Detroit would be depressing.
more depressing than playing a VaTech team that was basically a Frosh/Soph squad that had no business being in a bowl? Hopefully with the portal shift to January, we'll avoid some of this, but I doubt it.I just want a P4 opponent, preferably. Playing someone like Miami in Ohio in Detroit would be depressing.
The Rose, Orange, Sugar, Cotton, and Fiesta bowls still matter. Some of the lesser bowls that have long history - Citrus, Gator, Peach, Sun, and Holiday are all decent and well run. I remain curious to see how many of the others last in this new era.I still want the Gophers to play in the actual Rose Bowl game, which isn’t what it used to be either, but that would give my fandom maximum joy.
The Sun Bowl was a lot of fun in 1999 and in 2003. El Paso was kind of under-rated.....The Rose, Orange, Sugar, Cotton, and Fiesta bowls still matter. Or the Gophers to just win a bunch of games. It’s so hard to project with the pac Additions having separate affiliations
Basically we want Washington, USC, Oregon. and UCLA to keep beating peoples
I was there in 2003 as well. The Sun Bowl was a lot of fun in 1999 and in 2003. El Paso was kind of under-rated.....

Think it takes 9 - 3 to make that happen. 8-4 gets us Music City or Arizona (maybe Outback). 7-5 gets a crappy bowl. That GameAbove Sports Bowl between Nebraska and Buffalo will be a must watch for sure.
I'll take OU in the Citrus Bowl. That would be fun!
8-4 is Music City. Every one else likely in that range of W-L will have already played there too much.Think it takes 9 - 3 to make that happen. 8-4 gets us Music City or Arizona (maybe Outback). 7-5 gets a crappy bowl.
We may really regret the loss to Cal. Seems like we have 1 every year.

We punted away the Cal game ... but honestly kinda stole two games.Funny how one week can change perceptions this much.
Regardless......a lot of work needed to make this one happen.
I never miss a kickWe punted away the Cal game ... but honestly kinda stole two games.
It would literally be the end times for some fans if we came into the Neb game 2 and 4.
Some guy misses a kick or makes one and it's all the difference in the world.
