I just won a tunnel team pass for Nebraska's game. I know the game starts at 7, but it said we should meet up at 6:20 before going down there. Is it a quick thing or do we just stand around for thirty minutes for anyone that has done this before. If I can bring my beer down there I'll certainly do that if they allow it!

You will stand for a while till your escorts guide you to the tunnel. Then you wait for the team. That's the easy part. The hard part is trying to get to your seats by kick-off.

Our group did the tunnel team for the first time against Rutgers. It was tough getting info from the marketing people on when to be there and where to go. But, yes -- you get there 30 minutes and basically stand and wait. There was a guy doing trivia with the crowd as we waited, and we won a T-shirt. Not sure about taking a beer down; I don't know why you couldn't, but I'm not sure. We missed most of the first drive of the game getting to our seats.

Been a few years since I last did it, so I can't recall whether you can have a beer. There is a fair amount of waiting. First, you will probably wait until at least 6:30 at concourse level in case anyone is running late. Next you wind your way down the ramps toward field level and wait until everyone is off the field from warm ups and pregame. Then they let you down to the tunnel from the locker room to the field and you spread out along the corridor. That all takes longer than you'd think. Then you wait some more for the team to come by. Afterwards, you have to wait for all of the team personnel/game staff to come by and get out to the field before you can leave to wind your way back up the ramps to the concourse. Agree that you will miss some game action (but if anyone give you grief, you can show them your lanyard).

Fun thing to do once or twice, but unless you have kids, it isn't worth the time to me to do it regularly. If you do have kids, make sure that they get up in the first row so that they can see and slap hands with the players. That's the part my kids remember from the experience.

You will stand around for a little time.

I’ve done it a few times it is certainly worth doing and fun.

Note that by the time you get back up kickoff will already have happened or at least it did for me.
Sorry. I saw your post after I had posted mine.

I also won this through Dinkytown athletes. It’s fun. Bring a beer with you (not sure this is allowed).

I got free tickets to the game from a coworker (thanks MEA) and the tunnel team. Pretty solid.

We've done this with the kids probably the last 5 years. Were there for Purdue. They changed it a bit this year. In years prior, you waited in the concourse near the student section entrance gate for a bit while everybody got checked in and their wrist bands. Then at some predetermined time, they let you go down the ramp in a mad free-for-all. Which meant if you were motivated, you could show up after they suggested and still get a decent spot along the tunnel.

However, this year, they are queuing you down along the ramp, so essentially the first people to arrive and wait got the primo spot in the tunnel. They tell you to arrive 40 mins prior to kickoff. We got there about 45mins prior and had only a few people behind us in line. There was a LONG line in front of us. So even though we got there pretty early, we were definitely in the second row of people in the tunnel. We lifted our 6 and 8 year olds up, and some nice people in front of us let our 10 year old sneak in the front row, so it was fine. We probably waited on the ramp about 25 mins before letting us down to the tunnel.

I've done non-conference games in the past and it's been less busy. I think I'm going to do that again next year.
