***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT #1 OHIO STATE LET'S SHOCK THE WORLD IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Recruit at a higher level. It's not that difficult to understand.

The same schmoes crowing about flipping 83 level talent with 1 P4 offer are dumbfounded over getting boat raced by tOSU.
MN has never had a 5 star recruit and why would you want to come here. To play in the Mayo Bowl? 5 star guys go to helmet schools to play in Bowl Championship Series.

Every chance their penalties give us a sliver of a chance to be competitive, the O$U refs yawn at us in $100 bills...

"I'm not sure why it wasn't called right there"

Because the game is rigged, dumbass
We stop them on the first drive of the 2nd half, most important drive of the game, not once but then decline the penalty and stop them TWICE on 3rd down to force them to punt.

OH crap! We have a little smidgen of momentum!! Better call a bulls**t ticky tack call that pushes us back half the distance to the goal!

Oh crap! We actually would've thrown a dime pass on 3rd and long .. don't call as blatant of a hold as you can get.

That's the s**t that makes me want to turn this s**t off. NOT that the Gophers are out matched. NOT that we're losing.

That the Big Ten already decided before we even landed in Columbus that they were never going to allow the #1 team to go down to the Gophers.

It's blatant.

I havent once even mentioned a five star.

We came out aggressive drive one and we've missed number of passes and went for it 4th down midfield.

tohsu is much better, they're natty contender, we're not. They'll have more than double NFL players than we will.
So turtle up. I have zero illusions about this game but this is a pretty pathetic gameplan.

I generally like college football better than the NFL, but it does seem rigged towards the blue bloods. On that last series, ref throws a sketchy flag vs the Gophs on the punt return that costs them 15 yards, then they fail to call an obvious PI on third down against OSU. The result is great OSU field position and quick TD. That shit happens over and over.

OSU has a pair of NFL WR1s with a 5-star QB throwing them the ball. It’s no surprise that’s they’re eating us up in the air.

When you play #1 you don’t get the calls; they do. We need the buckeyes to make mistakes that are very costly for them. Mistakes that the referees can’t reverse or cover. That’s not happening. The buckeyes are playing a very disciplined game.

College football is the most un-even playing field in any sport. Blue Bloods have all the advantages.

Many posters on here with no apparent Minnesota connections ripping on the Gophers and it happens week after week.

Yes, tough night. Number one team in the country, and yes, we've made some mistakes. I'm not going to get all bent out of shape about it.
As someone born, raised, attended UMN and still lives in Minnesota I say this is why we fail, no standards in the game.

Hoping everyone has fun is not a standard. Handing out ribbons to everyone is not a standard.
Spreading kindness in a competition rather than competing in that competition is not a standard.

The apathy of accepting being number two is passive masochism.

College football will never maximize total ratings and therefore total TV revenue unless TV execs somehow force the top X schools to be a single unit (league, whatever you want to call it) with a draft that actually spreads the top talent around evenly among those top X. (Don't know if X is 32, 48, 64 or what)

The conferences own college sports. The blue bloods schools own the conferences.

Unless TV can break that stranglehold, the blue bloods are more than happy to have college football make less overall revenue in exchange for a continued blue blood oligopoly.
