"@TomDienhart: A source has told me that Navy coach Ken Niumatalolo has interviewed and is a finalist at Minnesota."
I would be very happy with that hire.![]()
Gray has tweeted that he doesn't like the triple option, so he would probably transfer, along with Lair and McKnight.

How committed is Coach Ken to the flex-bone? Is it a Calhoun situation where he is just adapting to the strengths of what he has?
Right...like Lair and McKnight would transfer right before their senior seasons.
This mean we won't know until the week after next.
Why wouldn't they? They still have redshirts to burn.
Nope, he's a Paul Johnson protege/clone. He ran it as a QB at Hawaii where Paul Johnson was the OC and, aside from a brief stint at UNLV, has been associated with it his entire coaching career.
They are not going to sit out a year with only one year of eligibility left.

They would prefer to stick around and have JD Pride throw very few balls to them?

Right. JD Pride. Good one.
Do you know that Georgia Tech just produced an NFL 1st round draft pick from the WR position, while running the flexbone offense?
Anyway, my point is that very few seniors transfer when there is a coaching change. And if they do, they go to DI-AA schools in order to play right away. They are not going to play for 3 straight years and then sit out a season.
There's no reason you can't pass out of the flexbone, or whatever formation you run the triple option out of.
Can you say pipeline to football Island?
