Add pops to the multitudes of people of his generation who think society gives a shit about what they think when they get a pedestal. Man, we live in the dumbest timeline. Shame on greder for giving him the time of day and perpetuating the stupidity.

Honestly, I wonder how 2023 would have gone and if Athan would've still transferred after the season had Ciarrocca stayed.

Honestly I don't think most would be too upset about Athan if none of the drama happened around his transfer and instead it was just him saying "I don't gel with the current OC/QB coach and it will be better for both me as an athlete and MN as a program for me to move on".

The dad's not wrong. PJ can say pretty much the same system, but Sanford and Harbaugh are not the same system as Ciarrocca. Pretty sure Athan was recruited by Ciarrocca and then he left for PSU.

AK has been way better with Ciarrocca than he was with the other two. Sanford and Harbaugh are not on the same level when it comes to being an OC and QB coach. Ciarrocca is one of the best in the country. Franklin was stupid to let him go. Ciarrocca is so much better than Sanford & Harbaugh at developing a game plan, developing a run game, developing a QB, and play calling.

I think Harbaugh is better than Sanford, but Harbaugh 's run game is not good, and his redzone play calling is not good. Lastly, his timing for trick plays is some of the worst I've ever seen.

Agreed, he didn’t really say anything upsetting, and he still gave credit for the year under Ciarrocca at Minnesota.

I would agree Kirk is better than the other 2 but I wouldn't say he's one of the best in the country.

You're correct, but also doing that is his job now. It gets clicks and that's what puts meat on the table.

He knows you'll click on it. So the trash gets put out.

He could say "pro-style" and be reasonably correct, but (as we know) Ciarrocca's big, big thing is the RPO as the central identity and focus.

I did not know that Robb Smith had resurfaced at Rutgers. Makes Iowa's 30+ points make a lot more sense.

I, for one, feel much better about our chances with Robb Smith in charge of the play calling on D for Rutgers.
Smith has got to be one of those guys who is absolutely brilliant when talking X's and O's about football, explaining this and that, and talking his way into a job.

But clearly, does not know how to teach/coach and does not have instincts about what the opposing OC is going to do and how to attack it.

AK was bad his full year starting here. Drake is better now than AK was here. AK is playing better than Drake currently but has a lot more experience. It’s easy to blame Fleck or the coaches, maybe AK just grew up and learned some too.
Agreed. I doubt many people are surprised AK improved. That's sort of what you do over time when practicing a craft. So far Drake is playing better than AK did at this stage of his career.

Yeah, 5 years of college ball you would hope to see lots of improvement. We were a much better team with Brosmer at the helm last year than we would have been with AK so it is what it is.

I'll add one more thought.

It's funny to see teams who offer a kid, he takes the offer and get his chance ... then the family get upset at the team who made an offer after things don't work out.

Plenty of teams out there who saw AK and just said no outright...

Yeah it’s just noise. But ya gotta build some drama. I know I am chomping at the bit to see AK get sacked like 8 times and throw 10 INTs.

Anything for clicks these days, I'm afraid.

And AK is back with the coordinator that recruited him, right? Better fit helps.

Yeah that was a big nothing burger. Does noeler bear get paid to just put stuff up on here?
