All Things 2025 Minnesota Vikings In-Season Thread

The question that was always going to loom heavily over this season was:

with a very short window of opportunity with this defense and defensive coordinator, did it make more sense to go with a veteran QB this year and let McCarthy be a healthy backup?

Two games is impossible to have a definitive answer. But I know what my answer was from the beginning.

As you all know, the Vikings have had some spectacular season when a "washed up"/journyman veteran QB has taken over or started the season.

Who knows, let's see what Wentz has

I’m pretty sure he’s deader than Aaron Rodgers career👍

Please stop. Rodgers was never coming here to be back-up to McCarthy.

As predicted Broseph @Slim Tubby, two of our most valiant warriors return for their season debut. Hagar @Gopher_In_NYCYour Purple Shepra has got you🤠

We feast on a certain delicacy of Tiger today @ High Noon. A convincing W of 27-10 shall restore thee Purple Pride😎
Sounds like we actually get three (3) guys back including The Gink. Good news for sure. Can we please cut Skule so none of us ever have to worry about him mimicking a well-oiled subway turnstile as a Viking ever again?

I placed a teensy wager on Mason for the Over on 74.5 rushing yards. I expect him to have a very impactful game today.

Given the way the OL has played, what are the odds that a 41 year old QB would have also found himself sidelined due to injury at this point in time?

Probably pretty high, I suspect.
Correct.

i also would take a prop bet that he starts less than 60% of the games this year for Pitts - no way he doesn’t spend significant time on the IL.

my magical powers of prediction are only 2/3 accurate 🤷‍♂️

Loving the NYC 🚇 reference, but alas, he’s in concussion protocol and can’t be unemployed, until he’s healthy. That was a big mistake to not have a better backup than him, when you knew Darisaw was likely not going to be ready to start the season.

I would hope they run it a lot so they can use that to get Wentz some easy looks.

How long till Aaron Jones legally changes his name to Amp Lee Jr.?

The virtual measurement is a gigantic waste of time. There was never an issue with measuring before, it was the spot that was the issue.

My post didn't say Rodgers?

I'm pretty sure it said "a veteran".

And look at that ... I'm right.

It was always the correct decision that a veteran QB should be leading this team, with its "made to compete for the NFC championship right now constructed roster".
