Didn't go well for us. Lost in 2006 out there 42-17. That Cal team had insane skill position players. Marshawn Lynch had 152 yards and 2 TD's while fellow future NFL RB Justin Forsett had 78 yards. They also had WR's Desean Jackson and Lavalle Hawkins (4th round pick by the Titans). That game was during our experimental phase with Alex Daniels at RB, who went for 80 yards and a TD.

2009 at TCF lost 35-21. Jhavid Best went for 154 and 3 TDs. They also had Shane Vereen who had a nice career with the Patriots. I'd forgotten how good their skill players were during the 2000's. A certain QB came through there as well.

I was sitting there in that corner. That was not a clean hit, the Cal player hit him with the crown of the helmet under the chin. The shoulder part was clean, the crown of the helmet hitting him under the chin was not clean, that is why it should have been ruled at least unnecessary roughness. This is now called targeting. I mean he was literally bleeding from his chin. The announcers were wrong he careened off the shoulder and the helmet got him. I was upset about the play because being in row three on that play you could see he was hit by the helmet. I had to buy extra tickets to that game because I invited to many people to sit in my season ticket seats.

For me the Gophers owe the Cal Bears a really physical Big 10 football game for that play. Decker is one tough dude for holding on to that football. Goldy Gopher doesn't forget cheap shots.

Cal Alum here. Those teams also had Tedford as HC. This team isn’t those teams by a mile.

I sit behind the visitors bench. There was a lot of trash talking at the fans. They were sore winners and poor sports.

I was at the 2006 Cal game. On our first possession, the Gophers got inside the Cal 5-yard line when Matt Spaeth got loose on a cross field pass from Cupito and ran about 40 yards. In the Gopher section, a cry of "You can't stop us" got started after Daniels bulled into the end zone on third down. Turns out the Bears COULD stop us. The Gopher section was down by that end zone and I remember plucking out splinters from the worn wooden benches. I think they have refurbished the place since. I will find out soon enough!

Definitely would have been a targeting and ejection in today's game.
