He did great - even considering he came in after the game was decided. Excellent presence and poise. Passes were sharp. If Lindsey is unable to play, I think we have a serviceable back-up.

On the flip side - Wittke.... sheesh.
 









I didn't realize his mother passed away at the end of last season.

He looked good last year in the non con too but then came back to his norm. He ended at 53.9 completion percentage last year.

When his father played and that team made the tournament run, I was living and working in Illinois. That was long before I ever came to Minnesota. We had an office pool, discussed the games, and some of the guys were enjoying that name. "It's not Chickenjanski, it's Shikenjanski!"
 



Yep, really glad to see him play and impressed with his poise and competence in his first QB real QB action. He looked comfortable out there, like he was playing with House money.
 


Great to see a local guy walk on and win the backup job. Hopefully we don't need him to be the guy at any point this season but he looked pretty comfortable out there which is a good sign.

Great low pressure moment for him to get into the game and get some reps. Could play loose knowing that one mistake wouldn't cost the team the game.

I never heard one of the announcers mention his dad. I was sure they would not miss that link or did i just not hear them?

That would have added to the broadcast. Is that on the Gophers not to have a cheat sheet for them for each player with interesting tibits?

Are we sure he is the backup over Morehead? I assume Wittke wouldn’t be #2.

My understanding is that Shik right now has a better grip on the offense than Morehead does as he has been around longer. I would assume that could be re-evaluated the longer Morehead is around or if they needed someone for multiple starts. Hopefully, Lindsay is an Ironman though.
