I disagree. HOF should be for names people can easily recognize. Who outside of MN even knows who he is? Great player for the system he was in though.Well deserved. A superstar OL and a great guy.
This is college football HOF. What he did as a pro doesn't matter. He was as good a college center as you'll find. That's all that matters. Bet there are many college lineman in college football HOF that are not household names.I disagree. HOF should be for names people can easily recognize. Who outside of MN even knows who he is? You are a moron.I disagree. HOF should be for names people can easily recognize. Who outside of MN even knows who he is? Great player for the system he was in though.
So was Tim Tebow. Mitch Leidner, Adam Weber would have been successful there. Wow what an odd statement. Most people are system guys.I disagree. HOF should be for names people can easily recognize. Who outside of MN even knows who he is? Great player for the system he was in though.
His comment on Eslinger was idiotic but are you suggesting Mitch Leidner would have had similar success to Tim Tebow in Florida’s system? So was Tim Tebow. Mitch Leidner, Adam Weber would have been successful there. Wow what an odd statement. Most people are system guys.
Every Badger qb, rb in 90s, 00’s except Russel Wilson and maybe Melvin Gordon.
Did Andy Katzenmoyer play in the pros?
Easily recognize![]()
Eslinger was critical to the success of the Gophers running game while he was here.Eslinger is one of the most decorated centers in college football history. One of the greatest gophers in the modern era.
Started every game in his career. Was first team all big ten three out of his four years, which is insane. Unanimous all American.
Well deserved.
Offensive lineman and especially interior offensive lineman are not going to be household names for fans of other teams.I disagree. HOF should be for names people can easily recognize. Who outside of MN even knows who he is? Great player for the system he was in though.

We saw some very, very, very...did I say very?...good run games during that period.
If only David Gibbs had stayed and built a defense to go with it. Sigh.
Good for Greg. Ski U Mah!

No blood was spilled in this post!!!I disagree. HOF should be for names people can easily recognize. Who outside of MN even knows who he is? Great player for the system he was in though.
Correctamondo!!!!Eslinger is one of the most decorated centers in college football history. One of the greatest gophers in the modern era.

Yeah, maybe I didn't give him enough credit.Offensive lineman and especially interior offensive lineman are not going to be household names for fans of other teams.
Eslinger is absolutely deserving of a spot in the College football HOF. 4 year starters at OL are not common and he was an instrumental part of the line that blocked for one of the top rushing offenses in the country.
Thanks for posting and cool that Pj was there
Whether its just for show or sincere, he does a great job connecting with former players, even guys that never played under him. Thanks for posting and cool that Pj was there
I wonder if Mason was invited and/or went?Whether its just for show or sincere, he does a great job connecting with former players, even guys that never played under him.
PJ is a good dude. Stuff like this matters to him and the current and former players I’m sure appreciate it.Whether its just for show or sincere, he does a great job connecting with former players, even guys that never played under him.
Watching Eslinger and Setterstom, et al clearing the way and the RBs run wild was a beautiful thing. Feel lucky to have been able to watch it live and in person. We had some good talent at QB and WR and TE to boot it’s gotta be some kinda curse (or Mason’s D recruiting struggles) that we couldn’t play D a bit better back then. Either way, was a fun time.
One would think maybe the University of Minnesota would have noticed.
Came in and played as a true freshman. Claimed in video with Daniel House that he was 245lbs after training camp freshmen yearEslinger is one of the most decorated centers in college football history. One of the greatest gophers in the modern era.

How many nfl lineman in their hof does the average person remember 10 or 20 years after they are done playing? How many fb fans in general actually understand o line play beyond yelling when there's a sack?I disagree. HOF should be for names people can easily recognize. Who outside of MN even knows who he is? Great player for the system he was in though.
