The city itself isn't very large, but the district is fairly expansive and buts up to and includes parts of very rapidly growing West Fargo and Horace, and outlying, fast growing populated and affluent areas of Fargo and West Fargo. It is crazy the amount of talent that comes out of a town that size.
A similar scenario exists (less so these days) in Harrisburg, SD, which puts out DI talent, including a recent, brief Gopher QB Knuth. The city of Harrisburg 20 years ago was less than 1,000 people but the school district included fairly populated rural subdivisions between Sioux Falls and Harrisburg and more importantly, vast swaths of south Sioux Falls. Harrisburg itself has now grown quite a lot but by and large, most of its students live in Sioux Falls city limits rather than Harrisburg city limits.
These towns are like suburbs. There not isolated islands of football like Minneota.
