All Things 2025 Minnesota Twins In-Season Thread

Interesting exchange on Page 2 & 3 of this thread.

Nailed it.

Still LOL'ing? Oops.

Nailed it.
No, I'm no longer LOL'ing. Minnesota Sports. Did JJ McCarthy shred his knee in the joint practices yet?

Might as well throw one more out there........under the, WHY OF COURSE:

Since returning to the Houston Astros, Carlos Correa has been on a tear, batting .405 with 15 hits, including 2 home runs and 6 RBIs in his first 9 games. He's also recorded six multi-hit games in that span.

Over the past two seasons, the Milwaukee Brewers have traded away an ace Cy Young award winner and one of the best closers in the game. They fired their all time winning winningest manager after a 92 win season, all while reducing payroll and dealing with an eerily similar TV situation to the Twins. Won 93 games last year. Currently the best team in baseball 30 games over .500.
To make it even sweeter, our old friend from 2022 Trevor Megill, is their closer.

2025 Stats thus far -
28S, 1.5 WAR, 2.2 ERA and 1.07 WHIP

2022 Year W/Twins -
0S, -0.6 WAR, 4.8 ERA and 1.49 WHIP

Yankee Stadium playing surface looks like a Minnesota-Syracuse Pinstripe Bowl is about to break out.

Nice win tonight, behind a sterling Joe Ryan performance.

My favorite moments of the TV as well as Radio broadcasts were hearing all the announcers including Audra Martin, trying to avoid an FCC violation by stumbling through the Yankee Starting Pitcher's name.

If makes you feel any better, Correa went 0 fer 3 last night and sat on the bench today. Scheduled rest day.

Twins TV is cable only (at least tonight) so curse away Audra.

Knowing the Pohlad's, they'd hype it up and it would just be Joe Ryan in a turbine doing yoga to My Sharona.
They don't have the best track record in media distribution, including Victory and whatever FM station (Wolf?) KQGO, they ran into the ground a few years ago.

Twins TV seems to be following the same path.

EDIT- My bad, Wolf is what the Twins are on currently. KQGO is part of the radio entity that the Pohlad's failed at.

Maybe the Pohlads will simply increase foreclosure rates for widows, orphans and veterans to pay off their "debt".

I saw a podcast with Reusse. They were discussing ways the Pohlads might explore to pay off their "debt".

Reusse: "How about this? Write a check! Done."

They went back to WCCO, which they never should have left. The attempt to move it to their own radio station was a cluster-E$%%^^

They don't own banks anymore and haven't for years.

That's right. But they own a baseball team, and — surprise! — they're using the same business tactics. Squeeze every ounce of blood you can possibly squeeze.

The best part: Their letter to the fans. It was as risible as it was nauseating. Do they really expect any intelligent person to believe that they give two shits about building a winning baseball team?

Actually the Twins left WCCO for KSTP when they were switching to ESPN-1500, which I didn't think was that bad of a move at the time. Twins talk took up tons of the stations local show programming, in addition to the games.

Rocco went blue when he got ejected arguing Jeffers swinging 3rd strike in the 11th.

I actually think it was the correct call though. I think the catcher got the web of his mitt under the ball

In Rocco's post game remarks, he makes a good point that the Umps at least should have looked at the ball.

First shot looked like he may have gotten web, side shot made it looked trapped. I thought it looked more trapped than caught.

And yes, they should have checked the ball. And that ump was ready to run Rocco as soon as the pitch hit the dirt.

Yep, they usually check the ball. It's not a big ask to do everything they're able to to get the call right.
