Disney is buying NFL Network and RedZone distribution rights. In return, the NFL will get a 10% stake in ESPN.

Not a terrible loss I guess, the NFL Network had kinda been going downhill in recent years anyway. Lots of staff turnover, the quality of the shows has been eroding for a couple years, et al.

As far as the RedZone, It's hard to see a scenario where that product is not worse under the control of the "worldwide leader". I'll likely find another alternative for consumption depending on how this plays out.

Hopefully they don't change a thing, because Red Zone is about as good as it gets.

For starters, I would have to assume that our days of watching Red Zone without commercials are over. And that's likely just for starters
 



Red Zone is already "brought to you by Fan Duel" with plays brought to you by other sponsors. They can rake in the $$ and still keep it "ad free"

They started phasing in commercials last year. But yes fair to assume it will only get worse. I hope if nothing else it's those commercials where they do the split screen deal and still have the games visible.
