Pretty fitting to have a guy the Twins gave up on close out the series winner. Pathetic effort.
Listening to Twins radio, Festa's ERA with Vázquez catching him was under 2.00 before today. With Jeffers it was over 3.50.It's good to see Swingin' Christian Vazquez back out there yet again for the 6th time in 10 games. Now 1 for 33. Now hitting .165 with a .499 OPS.
Didn't watch live today, just following along when I could.Listening to Twins radio, Festa's ERA with Vázquez catching him was under 2.00 before today. With Jeffers it was over 3.50.
Didn't work. In part because of a muffed double play attempt in the bottom of the 1st.
Meanwhile, Jeffers was afforded an opportunity to chase Vázquez' futility at the plate by being inserted as a PH and killed a late potential Twins rally.
It was only 3 games against the Marlins, as I believe it is for all series against NL Teams now.3 runs in 4 games against the marlins. If I am Rocco I wanna be fired so I don’t have to watch this disaster anymore. I hate them.

But, I was just able to look at the highlight of the potential double play ball. Looked like Lee and Castro handled it fine. What did I miss?
Fine. He shouldn't have caught on Monday then. Catching him more than one game per series is absurd.Listening to Twins radio, Festa's ERA with Vázquez catching him was under 2.00 before today. With Jeffers it was over 3.50.

The guy he's backing up is no great shakes either. 2 for 29, with a robust Season WAR of 0.5.Fine. He shouldn't have caught on Monday then. Catching him more than one game per series is absurd.
Jeffers isn't having a good season. But he's still hitting 65 points better and OPSing over 200 points better. That's not a minor difference. The guy he's backing up is no great shakes either. 2 for 29, with a robust Season WAR of 0.5.
Pretty minor difference. Both are stinking up the joint currently.
Ok. Maybe. I didn't see it but Perkins knows better than me. Fast runner.I was only going by Twins Radio. Off the bat, Atteberry indicated "it should be two". He and Perkins just thought there was hesitation in the turn.
The WAR differential is what I was referencing as being minor, which is also a season long statistic.Jeffers isn't having a good season. But he's still hitting 65 points better and OPSing over 200 points better. That's not a minor difference.
When your offense is terrible giving 50% of your starts to the worst hitter in baseball for no reason isn't logical. How many other teams platoon catchers 50/50?The WAR differential is what I was referencing as being minor, which is also a season long statistic.
Neither are very good right now.
1-33 vs 2-29.
Obsessing over their AB distribution seems like a complete waste of time.
The other half of the 50/50 isn't doing substantially better. A difference of 0.4 WAR is pretty minute, in my opinion. When your offense is terrible giving 50% of your starts to the worst hitter in baseball for no reason isn't logical. How many other teams platoon catchers 50/50?
