U of M Total Operating Revenue by Sport for 2024 (football is 75%, other 18 sports are 25%)

Did Big 10 hockey increase Big 10 Network revenue at all? Did it increase revenue to the hockey schools? From what I'm reading here, it didn't. Is there a Big 10 hockey conference only because Notre Dame is a hockey member? It would seem to me that the other Big 10 hockey schools are likely in the same boat and could potentially increase revenue by there being no Big 10 hockey. So kick Notre Dame to the curb.

Of course, is the market still there for a lucrative local television contract? Based on what happened to the Twins (and I assume Wild) the Bally Sports fiasco has greatly diminished local television revenues for the local clubs.
I doubt it increased revenue at all. I would suspect the Gophers were an outlier in terms of TV interest among college hockey teams in general. What it was supposed to do from a BTN standpoint, is provide more content to the network, but it seems like they hardly spotlight hockey at all.

correct and its never going to be parsed out based on sport. they paid for the whole thing and it's a way to get the fan of each specific sport and/or team to buy their package by restricting it from being shown elsewhere. They're not going to let MN pull out for hockey just as they wouldn't let OSU do it for football, Iowa for wrestling, etc.
