I wonder if Roman is related to Lloyd Voss former Nebraska and NFL player from Minnesota.

I don't know but wouldn't be surprised. Lloyd Voss was born in Adrian, MN, which is in Rock County, and there's just one county (Nobles) between Rock and Jackon counties. That said, Voss is not that uncommon a name in Scandinavian communities, several of which are dotted all over Southwestern Minnesota.

There's also a chance he could be a relative of Natalie Voss, the blonde vixen played by 90s immortality Kristy Swanson, in the 1995 award winning comedy thriller "The Chase."
 




I hope I'm wrong but I get a bad feeling that he's announcing now. If he was going with the hometown team, I would think he would wait for school to start and announce at a school ceremony, or have a much more public announcement.

I could be way off, and maybe the kid just doesn't need the publicity, and maybe I'm just trying not to get my hopes up.......
 


I turned my notifications for PJ back on through Twitter. Saw one come through and my heart rate skyrocketed just for the nekton of the week post.

doing it in summer, with his team (and family) all free and not stuck at school and forced to go sit in the gym with a bunch of people you don't really care about being there. that seems like a much more ideal way to do it to me, particularly for a smaller town guy who hasn't seemed all about the fanfare

Jackson is a very small town--This will be a big time town celebration no matter when/where it is held. My guess is he's doing this now so he can focus on his senior year and enjoy one last season with his friends.
 

It's Tuesday on the other side of the world.

Wouldn't we be able to call someone and ask where he went?

He had 2 finalists and he has visited them both so making the announcement now makes perfect sense. Get it done with and focus in on training and preparing for the upcoming season. No point dragging it out if he knows what he wants to do after the visits.
