RB Estrada commits to Gophers

if you want to get overly excited, go watch his hudl tape on 247. I get it's lower division, but still

This offer list is impressive

Alabama, Michigan, Missouri, Oklahoma State, Baylor, BYU, Cal, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, SMU, Vanderbilt, wisconsin

Love the end of this sentence 😂

Estrada holds 20 scholarship offers from schools across the country. Besides Minnesota, he has taken official visits in recent weeks to Oklahoma State, Missouri, and Michigan, with additional official visits scheduled for Oklahoma and Alabama, all of which have offered him. In addition, schools that had offered scholarships but failed to make the cut for an official visit from Estrada included Baylor, BYU, SMU, and Wisconsin.

Woo-Hoo!!

A huge get with a very strong offer list.

This is the dude I wanted BADLY and considered a MUST HAVE.

Great outcome!

Too bad I'm not drinking during the week. ...I'll have to wait until Friday night to pour myself a celebratory drink. Or ten.

I've decided to drink an extra one in your honor when I get home tonight.

His dad used to patrol the freeways of southern California on a police motorcycle. Or at least that is what I am thinking.
Could not resist.

Joining the Gophers IMO makes a lot of sense for big time RBs. We run the ball a lot, and our games have all seasons of weather (versus, say Texas where you never play in cold temps). As for the "all weather" item, the one P4 college coach that I knew said that was a bigger deal than people think - the NFL wants to know you can hold onto the ball and catch it in cold weather. You've gotta prove that versus them just assuming it.

Bonus Tip: he also said the number one item to differentiate you in the draft was your ability to pick up the blitz on passing plays - fans look at yards per carry and yards per game, NFL coaches look at your ability to block a blitzing NFL linebacker. If you can't block, you're not getting drafted.

Definitely looks like he has that break away speed we don’t see in all of our rbs. Always surprised me going all the way back to Mason that we haven’t consistently pulled in four star rbs.

RBs with true break away speed in HS, I suspect there just aren't many of them and they're picked up by a handful of schools.

I'm excited to see this guy do his thing.
