Still No Statement from Ben Johnson

Fair. He did some things incorrectly, but he did show promise in some areas. To borrow a coach Fleck term, hopefully failure will be growth. Time away may very well be the best thing for him.
Honest question - where did he show much of any promise?

The likely is implied. How would I possibly know the inner workings of Ben Johnson's thought process. Heck of a "gotcha" there.

No one has argued he "owes" us anything. The entire discussion is whether he should make a statement like an adult. I'm sure many of us do many things in life that we are not contractually obligated to do.
You are correct! Ben Johnson is an adult, and he has decided to not do something he is no longer contractually obligated to do. A decision as an adult he has every right to make, despite some morbid desire by some on this board to hopefully watch him bare his soul to people to which he has absolutely no desire to, nor any responsibility or any contractual obligation, to do so. He made a deal with the U to coach basketball and be the public face of the team. His dismissal ended both those responsibilities, regardless of the seemingly unending belief by some on this site to the contrary!

Yep but life is full of things you should or should not do regardless of your contractual obligations. In fact, the overwhelming vast majority of things in life you should or should not do are not dictated by contract.

No one is saying that he must. No one is saying that it's a contractual obligation. It's just the right thing to do.

It's not the right thing to do if the folks who never thought he should have been hired in the first place and/or were not enamored of the job he did as a coach take another opportunity to whack him on social media. He doesn't owe anybody anything.

Additionally, I think it was coolhand who said he's pretty tight with Medved and, obviously, Thorson. Any public comments by Johnson would be an unnecessary distraction.

It seems that the folks on here who most want him to speak are the folks who were most critical of his tenure. Unlikely they are going to be appreciative of anything he says.

Well I thought he was absolutely horrible and I don’t think he needs to say shit to anyone

Yes, well said.

Just like I said on the first page of this thread:
I know it is a slow news time, but.....

All you guys did was bitch about him when he was at the U and now that he is gone, you all find ways to bitch that he hasn't thanked you guys for bitching about him?

get a life....

You just can't make this shit up!
