The Twins lost 4-2 in Baltimore on this date in 1982, beginning a team record 14-game losing streak. They didn’t win again until June 4, falling to 12-41 on the season.

They lost eight games on the road and six at the Dome, and were outscored 88-33, including three shutouts.

They scored no more than two runs in each of the first eight games, followed by five games in which they scored at least four. Ron Davis and Brad Havens picked up three losses each. The Yankees’ Goose Gossage, on the other hand, earned two saves and two wins against the Twins during the 14-game streak.

I’m surprised they started this game. There’s some pockets of pretty heavy rain moving in. I don’t think they’ll be able to play through the heavier stuff.
 

Forecast for tomorrow isn't much better. Maybe trying to somehow get it in between the rain. Like you, though, surprised as they probably waste Ober and Cleveland wastes Allen.
 


They are playing again, but it looks like it's raining pretty hard downtown.
 


Who decison was it to play tonight game. I know they trying to get it in. But no only should they had not started the game on time. They should not have resume it either.

Now another rain delay. this is bad decison by the Twins and they know it.

Yeah I didn’t realize rain was forecasted through Wednesday. If the forecast was nice the next few days they don’t even start this game. I’m guessing both teams talked about it before hand and decided to try everything to get this one in. Otherwise they risk 3 rainouts and neither team wants that.

It’s a lose lose situation. They don’t play and then get rained out the next two days, then everyone says they should have tried to get this game in.

It’s ultimately up to the twins to start the game but I’m pretty certain they spoke with Cleveland before hand.
 




Game suspended and they no way they playing tomorrow. Horrible decison by the Twins tonight and they screw up big time.

Yeah my guess is they’ll be rained out tomorrow and then finish the suspended game along with the regular scheduled one on Wednesday.
 



I don't blame them for trying to get the game in, somehow, someway. I'm sure the hope was to at least get through five innings. What were they supposed to do? Try to play a tripleheader through the (likely) rain on Wednesday? This isn't like past years when Cleveland makes 8 trips here throughout the year. They don't return until the end of September. The Twins are off on Thursday, but Cleveland has to go to Detroit.
 


Need some weather luck tomorrow (don't think there is any chance they play today) and you could have Paddock finish suspended game and Ryan go the nightcap, followed by day off then Lopez, Ober again and another chance for Matthew's to close out homestand.

That would be a good idea assuming it's rained out today. I would think then they would complete the suspended game tomorrow with the regular scheduled game but I don't know if there's a specific rule of which one the second game has to be.
 

Last year's 1st round pick, Kaelen Culpepper off to a good start at A+ Cedar Rapids. Hitting .302 with 4 HR and .884 OPS. I'd expect him to get moved up to AA midseason. Could be on a path to get called up to the Twins at some point next season. He's still playing SS primarily so I'd be curious what they do with position wise long term.

Today's games called off. Last night's game and tomorrow's game played tomorrow (maybe.) Today's game played in September.

They could and should have postponed last night game. they could have play it on Wednesday as a doubleheader and today rain out game in September when Cleveland came back. The Twins royally screw up last night and they know it.

"Royally" screwed up? I really don't see the harm.

They are scheduled to play 15 innings on Wednesday instead of 18. Big whoop. They took a shot to get it in. Didn't work out. Thems the breaks.

As rain-out screw-ups go, this one doesn't rate very high. Any fan that went last night knew the weather odds and they gave everyone a free ticket to a different game.

They knew the weather sucked for the entire 3 days and hoped to sneak 5 innings in. I would say the bigger mistake is they should have moved the start time up at least an hour but I suppose Cleveland might have objected since it was the first game of the series.

Moving up the game time on short notice for a Monday night would have people bitching too, having to leave even earlier on a typical work/school day.

It would be one thing to do it in September to make sure all 162 are played, but they have 4 months to figure something out.
 

They are playing baseball at Target Field. Now in the T7, Minnesota up 4-2. Twins used Joe Ryan in relief for the restart. Regular game to be played later today.

Update on Correa & Buxton. Sounds like Carlos could be activated by Friday:
