All things Players Coming and Going.

The point is he getting solid players at Maine so he could obvious pull bigger guns at U... And he's pulling draft picks (and this guy has AHL experience...). He will have a bigger impact this year than a guy like Kvasnicka, Nevers, and probably Moore.
This guy will die sure play top six minutes at Maine. This is the issue with them all just being eligible now and especially a guy like this who will be one or two and done. They’re going to want top line and pp minutes. We aren’t going to sign these guys by and large because we typically fill with mid round mn kids. If he was 18 and did this in his 18yr old season and will play 2-3 years, very different scenario.

Landing this caliber player means zero towards landing a McKenna, martone, etc. other than it shows he’ll sign Canadians as we have as well.

If Minnesota's NIL is as weak as I think it is compared to BC/BU/UM/MSU/PSU, no coach is going to get those guys so I'll take the guy that's not already at retirement age.

It isn't his record, since he has a .476 winning percentage and has not won a game in the NCAA's. His team got blown out by Penn St in the regionals.
Bonin21 would rather we have a coach who's winning percentage is around 500 compared to a coach (Motzko) who's winning percentage is around 650. Bonin21 rationalization is Barr is younger so he will be able to adapt quicker than Motzko. He and everyone else has no idea if that will happen or not. Eeyore (Bonin21) being Eeyore.

Willander (BU) signs his elc. Would expect next swath of movement as the draft approaches and guys get moved and the chl signings to follow

UND about to get this kid. Top scoring 2008 in the WHL.

Motzko still has one recruit he actually found instead of poached in the last 14 months.

Seems like a solid player. Chyzks connections will pay dividends for them for some of these guys

Zetterberg to Mankato lol, the last player in the portal that would have made the Gophers better for three years.

Zetterberg would be middle six if not top six on the weak Gopher roster as it sits
I was just thinking we needed more guys who were 5’8” and didn’t play the stretch run while having 0 points after Christmas.

I get you want to sign someone, but this was not going to be a big mover especially when you’re bringing in Mooney who is better this kid as a prospect and would be a similar role

There's a reason he was basically consensus the best player left in the portal as it closed. He's got huge upside as a 4 year college player. I'd take another Leon Bristedt in the middle six which what he'll likely be. Maybe 20 points next year then 30-35 then 35-40

We’re already small and finesse based enough as it is. You already have mobile playmakers up front. He duplicates a role. This team needs a scorer if you’re hunting or it needs to buy into the role of playing tough defensive hockey. He’s neither of those at this level right now. Hea going to want top 6 and pp1 time and he’s not that here and if you’re breaking someone in on the pp who’s that dynamic playmaker, that’s Mooney.

You hold the spots for CHL guys you hope have interest post draft (this is provided you’ve built relationships at all)

Other than maybe Lakovic, you know how Motzko is... He'd be more likely to pull a 2005 from the CHL for this year than a draft eligible. So I don't think we should be waiting for that. Problem is most of the 2004/2005s are taken as we've watched more and more of them (many NHL drafted) commit elsewhere.

I would hold for lakovic over take a duplicate guy in zetterberg. Chl top dogs are new game and we’ve taken them prior (goalies particularly). We will see. I’m not optimistic but there’s a reason the blue bloods weren’t circling to take zetterberg. And it wasn’t because there wasn’t room
